What a beautiful tribute to Wayne! I was lucky enough to see Wayne with Weather Report (Peter Erskine drumming), the VSOP tour after Miles passed (Tony on drums) and with his own quartet with Brian Blade on drums. Such a masterful and unique artist. Great, great work on your part. This interpretation of “Footprints” I also love because the vocal takes it out of it’s original context. When Elvin passed, I played a Charlie Watts Jim Keltner Project track called “Elvin Suite” during a break at my gig that weekend.
