As a somewhat new fan from America who has watched casually in the past but took a deep dive this year and became a club member, thank you SO FREAKING MUCH for these videos!!! Keep up the hard work.

As somebody from Scotland who’s recently taken up footy knowing not a single rule. Your videos have been great for learning the game. Anthony McDonald-tipungwuti is who I try to base my play style after. He’s the man

how are you such a good KZbinr, I don't know how you do it??? if there was a million people who used KZbin and was into AFL then you would have a million subscribers, even if you don't you REALLY deserve it!

One of the most spectacular things about Footy is how versatile players are. Almost every player is guaranteed to play in multiple positions. Not just playing , sims create massive impacts. This isn’t there in Soccer or Rugby for that matter.
@FootyA2Z4 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely a factor that makes us unique. Even something as simple as a full back switching to full forward like Harry Taylor. In soccer you see CBs get forward for set pieces but not actually play striker!

@@FootyA2Z Amongst the current players, There are some genuine backs-forwards. Hookesy won 2 games last after moving to full forward midway through 3rd quarter

I love your videos, and as a non-Australian AFL fan I'm finally learning things I had always wanted to know. Thank you! I'd love to understand how the "exchanges" work when players come off the pitch. I hear commentators refer to this, but it's rarely shown on camera. When can players come off and on? Do they only come off for injury, or do sometimes they just take a break? How do they know when to come off and on?
@FootyA2Z4 жыл бұрын
Teams can rotate players continuously through the 4 interchange positions but are limited to making 90 interchanges per game. The rotations can occur at any time and the gameplay isn’t stopped to make them. Will probably look into it in detail for a vid one day. Glad to hear you’re enjoying them :)

I think another topic that might be interesting to cover would be the rise of tall, big bodied midfielders
@FootyA2Z4 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s a good one. Even the “smaller” mids can be huge these days
@BZMN354 жыл бұрын
Liking these videos but I'd suggest you went from "pressure forwards" to two types of "defensive forwards" at the end there which a quite different concepts. May have been better making a vid about "forward roles" and branching into the different types?
