The entire lead up and day was absolutely Magical. Like a Dream ...for neutral supporters not may have been a spectacle however for most Collingwood supporters I spoke to including me, the game was a blur owing to the intensity and was extremely difficult to enjoy and take it all in...it was sensory overload until the rapture at the final siren. What a wild two years it has been, by the end we were physically and mentally drained from all the close games. Very grateful to have witnessed it in the flesh nonetheless. Truly Amazing 😍

DeGoey wasn't huge. Huge was his performance in the prelim. Dunkley soft-tagged him at different stages and minimized his impact on the game. One of his goals was not due to Dunkley but because of a wayward Lions kick.

I don't think De Goey was huge throughout the whole match. Quiet in the first half apart from the goal at the end of the 1st quarter. Had a much better second half. Many more Pies players had a better full match than him. Crisp was unlucky to get as few votes as he did. I thought he was superb throughout.

I want to speak as a Collingwood hater… they won the match fairly ok, they deserve to be premiers. Don’t make us neutrals defend these guys even more because I hate doing it 😂 (I’m an Eagles guy… so we had to deal with this nonsense in 2018 with the classic Dom Sheed goal/the ump missed the free kick… some Pies fans were in denial and never gave us credit). Don’t deprive the rightful winner of the flag over a few bad calls/missed calls. We cannot base every win under a kick as “being robbed”/“stolen”… because as an Eagles fan (back in the days when we were good), this made us fanatically anti-Melbourne AFL teams and it harboured resentment. Accept the result because Collingwood were the better team on the day.

The high tackle paid up the end of the ground that led to the late Daniher goal more than makes up for it. The tackle never got above the shoulders. And if people want to cry about the noise making it so the players couldn't hear the whistle then what about the 50 paid against Markov when the umpire called stand. Two actual goals from those decisions compared to maybe Brisbane might have marked it the ball was bought back.

Neale decision was correct. They played on so quickly that the umpire had no alternative but to play on. If he had called it back after the kick, it would be tantamount to his saying that the advantage wasn’t good enough, and therefore he would be applying personal bias. That’s the rule. He didn’t have an option other than to call play on.

That’s such a nuffie argument. It’s about where those free kicks are being paid more than anything, as well as those that are missed. Daicos getting away with ducking/ dropping of the knees in dangerous positions, Cox dropping the ball 15m out from lions goal and no HTB, the advantage that was BS as well. Not saying it changes the result but it does create a different environment.

That was a good game but the 1989 GF is the best game of football ever played. It was brutal skillful and incredible in every way as much talent as you will see on a football ground that Hawks team from that era is the best ever to me and Geelong having Ablett whos arguably the best player we have ever seen he is for me anyway Hocking the Brownlow Medalist in Couch plus Stoneham etc that was the best game ever but to be fair this was a cracking game.

Congratulations Collingwood. And Brisbane can be proud,. I think the time is right to award medals to the runner ups, and maybe a bronze for finishing third. I know many will oppose this. However let's face it , it would of been deserving to give Brisbane players some form of merit for making it a great game. They do it in tennis , and other sports so why not.
