This is the service and restoration of a 1967 Seiko 6217-8001 "62Mas" Diver's Wristwatch. Perhaps one of the best and most original 62Mas examples I have ever seen.

For A, this is the specific strap I was referring to. uncleseiko.com...

I have a modern recreation sje093 and it’s really interesting to see the original. I’d love to be able to compare side by side.

You looked like you put enough torque on that winding weight screw to take a lug nut off lol. That sucker was really on there!

Yeah, it got really scary there for a second. Slow and steady. Funny enough, there were some screws that were actually loose in the case. Bizarre!

@@BlairWatchProject Very crazy. Btw how do you remove parts that have been epoxied in? I've seen that a few times.

Incredible watch past down to grandson. Perfect video for Father’s Day. Another labor of love.

That's the best looking 62mas I've seen. Amazing work bringing it back to life and hope that Alex does his research and understands the kind of watch he has and decides to keep it. I like the..."you know where I am" part 😁.

Could you let me know how to change the crown gasket? I have both 8000 & 8001. I bought the gaskets for my watch fixer, but he could not take out the old crown gasket. Technically, he doesn’t have the tool he mentioned

Congratulations for the service and congratulations to the happy owner ! I own a Seiko 6217-8001 in very good condition, everything seems to be original unless the strap and the crystal, which I believe is too flat (it should be domed). I bought an aftermarket crystal but the seller didn't have any tension ring, he recommended to use the old tension ring set in the watch. As I am far from convinced about this solution, I haven't replaced the crystal. Do you know if it would be possible to use the old tension ring? Would it be possible to find another tension ring, an aftermarket one?

You should be able to use the old ring in the new crystal. That is good advice and is probably the best solution.
