Thanks... It's an older video already, but only in 2007 you could see these combinations with two DF4DH engines in front and one DF4DH in the back... :-) One year later those were replaced by only two DF8B's, that are much stronger than a DF4DH... (3680 kW against 2940 kW...)

Thanks for the nice comments! :-) As a matter of fact I was here again in the beginning of this month, but unfortunately the conditions were not so perfect during the two days I was there, with a snowstorm on both days... :-/ A very hard wind, bad visibility and the snow melting when it touched the ground... :-( I made a few acceptable recordings though, but I still have to edit them before I can publish them here... :-)

Just discovered your work; excellent stuff. The Chinese really look after their track, those trains do not sway or rock and this is a busy railway with heavy trains.

Thanks! ;-) In that case I'm sure you might like several other videos in my collection here on KZbin too... ;-) (i usually focus on noisy trains in mountainous landscapes...)

Well, I recently read some news about the JiTong line, stating that they want to increase train weights to 7000 ton, with four (!) engines on those trains! I can't wait to film some of those...

Thanks! And indeed, the best way to get an idea of the quality of the Chinese tracks is by sleeping in one of those exellent long distance passenger trains. And believe me, I've already slept very good on Chinese trains... :-D

No problem! :-D The tunnel is not very long, I guess 300 meters only, the most interesting part is that it's a horseshoe curve here... The train first passes at my right side, then turn 180°, and then emerge from this tunnel... :-) That's why you can hear them so long... Just type "Jingpeng map" in Google, and search for the village of "Erdi", or "Tunnel 2". (I'm standing between tunnels 2 and 3.)

that's a pretty impressive load for three locos of +/- 4000 hp each. I wonder how many UP, say, would use on a similar load?

A few questions (then I'll go away - I promise!) How long is the tunnel? and how long are the lead loco's in it, is the first horn sound when the train is about to enter the tunnel? Many thanks.

@heymrpaul As I already explained in the description, this video is an uncut version of another video of mine, in which you can hear the train approaching from far away... If you don't like this version, then you should watch the other version... Furthermore, my video's are not intended for people who want everything quickly served, but rather at people who like to take their time to enjoy the full experience... If you don't like it then just stay away from this and watch other people's video's!
