Great video Footy. Im from Denmark and i work for the Train company here in Copenhagen. The 24 hour ticket you bought was for the small area in Copenhagen and didnt cover Brøndby Stadium and Brøndby hehe The correct ticket would have been 160 Dkk, So if you had been caught in the train you would have had to pay 750 Dkk extra, but its great you didnt get that fine. Just a small detail watching youre great video. :)

Great to see you discovered the Metro. You bought a 24 hour ticket which seems like a good choice for you. Here are some extra info if any consider doing same thing now or in summertime. The time-ticket "starts" the 24 hour when you bleep yourself into the station first time, not when you buy it, so just buy when you see a machine, not necessarily when you need to use it first time. But if any others think of going to Copenhagen , maybe late and going to sleep soon or whatever, just understand that the Metro have a departure in the airport. It are cheaper to buy a Metro ticket than the starting fee for a taxi AND it are faster in taking you to downtown Copenhagen in less than 15 minutes. Our new Copenhagen Metro cityring are fast and you do not have to learn any timetables. It departs 24/7 each 2 to 4 minutes! In an endless loop. Another tip for the price oriented traveller. Just like in the UK you can drink tap water anywhere in the nation, so spend your money on great beer, food and experiences, not bottled water! If you come in summertime then also remember that you are less than 50 kilometres from a beach nowhere in the nation you are. If you are in Copenhagen and want to go to the beach, I can recommend my own local favourite. "Amager strandpark". You are allowed to drink in public in Denmark and we are quite good at doing so, having a good time. You can get from Copenhagen to there by bike or public transport. Another little more airport oriented tip. Next to Copenhagen airport are North Europe's largest Aquarium, the blue planet. Its less than 15 minutes walk, well 5 if you are me, and it are a very good aquarium. I have dived for decades and like to visit different nations aquariums and the blue planet can in my book only be topped by the one in Singapore. If you get stuck in Copenhagen by a delay or want to ensure sleeping children on your flight, spending some hours there before departure, could be an idea.

As an American, the one major thing I love about Europe is how convenient airfare travel is. I’m jealous because it costs 60-80 minimum to just fly across the country. I got to visit some family in Germany last summer and caught a Hansa Rostock v St Pauli match which was incredible! There was a Hansa sticker at 21:45 outside the brondby stadium 😏

Denmark is a great country. Some of the friendliest people you could wish to meet plus they all speak English which is a huge bonus. BTW I`ve known TranmereKev for years. I first met him in Bologna railway station of a Tranmere Anglo Italian away trip. He lives in Cambridge so going to home games at Prenton Park, which is does more than a few times a season, costs him a fortune. Train prices in the UK, as you said, are a total rip when compared to the rest of Europe..well certainly the countries I have travelled by rail.

The atmosphere at Brøndby is amazing! We got stuck in CPH for three days last summer because of a SAS pilot strike (#@!%), and were able to snatch tickets to their season opener (like $30 for unreserved seating above the terrace). Sure, Brøndby Stadion is far more difficult to reach by train and bus (from central Copenhagen anyway) but it is far superior experience. I saw FC København play at a half-empty Parken in 2015, and wasn't impressed. I'm sure Parken's okay for derbies, though.

that's because back in 2015 the ultras scene wasn't that big here in Denmark but now it is getting bigger and bigger and that's the same with FC København their ultras are only getting bigger and better by every game if you came back now you would definitely be impressed but in the derbies both clubs are class

Brondby brings back memories of my best time as a Manchester United fan: the legendary treble season of 1998/99 after finishing the previous season without winning any trophies. United were in the Group of Death with Brondby, Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the Champions League (C1). Before that, United had to go through the qualifiers in order to book their place for the group stages. After getting out of the Group of Death, they had to beat the likes of Inter Milan, Juventus and Bayern in the final before lifting the European Cup. Against Brondby, United had a field day: 6-2 (away) and 5-0 (home). So yeah, I remember Brondby very well. It was the old good days. Thanks for the memories.

Thanks for visiting my country mate 👍🇩🇰 When i grew up, Brøndby stadion was just a pitch with a runningtrack around it. Before the match, a guy in a old VW van came, opened up the sidedoor and began to sell beers and sodas 😂 That was Brøndby in the 70s. Now It's called Vilfort Park, after a club legend, but it's not the official name, just among old veteran supporters. Since i lived 10 minutes from the stadion and our neighbor was director in the club, then ofcourse i played for the club, as well. However, i never reached higher than 4th team, out of 8 or 9 teams 😄 Cheers from a Viking 🇩🇰

You could have taken a winter swim in the harbor. While you were in Denmark, we won the World Cup in handball for the 3rd time in a row. Eating out in Denmark is expensive, but the quality is also very high, from street food to Noma, but you get more for your money than in the international chains such as 7-eleven. Your 24h ticket applies to all public transport, including buses and harbor boats. That and then cycling is the best form of transport, but not by car or taxi. Next time you go to Copenhagen, do it for 3 - 7 days, preferably in the summer. Ask some of your KZbin followers to provide you with free accommodation while you're here.

There is a reason that most of us in DK are pretty good at speaking English - it's like we by magic already "know" around half of a basic core English in advance, when we start learning English, and then "just" need to fill in the gaps and climb a few hurdles here and there - like the peculiar use of the word "do" (🙄) and the use of "-ing" in verb tenses. Greetings from Denmark / Danmark 👍

Obviously different situation for you but my Dad goes Brighton games and gets train ticket included anywhere in Sussex. Going to game on Sunday and he's paying £20 including 3 train journeys, good value.

Haven't been there since Rangers played lyngby, in the early 90s. In fact it was the first year the Champions League was rolled out. We'll say no more about that tournament. 👊

1992/3. I watched the Football Years - 1992 The Trans Europe Express - Ranger's documentary earlier. 44 games without defeat was very impressive.

Great video mate, shame you didn't go a week earlier or may have bumped into you. I went to see my beloved Brøndby after a great Football manager run with them. Apparently we both are terrible at pronouncing the name though based on a Conversation with a local.

LOL same here. I can get a return ticket for 100 pounds from Copenhagen to London. A train ticket from Copenhagen to the second largest City in Denmark cost the same. The distance in Denmark is 261 kilometers by train. A straight line for instance with a plane is 100Km. The distance from Copenhagen to London is 1000Km. So the train is 4-10 times more expensive. And it takes a lot of more time including waiting in the Airport

Went to London on a business trip some years ago. Paid more for the Gatwick Express than for the flight. It was a 7am out and a 9pm home, so not cheap flights. Further, while waiting for the train, I watched two trains leaving which I couldn’t take due to the silly ticketing system! I have tried that in Denmark too, but that was because I had bought a discount ticket…

Hey, you have used one of my pictures, the picture where FC Copenhagen won the Danish Championsship 2010/2011. Felling kind of proud to see that. I've been photographer for FC Copenhagen Fanclub from 1999 and to around 2015. A really great video you have made and as others mention, you should try come to Parken and see the local derby between FC Copenhagen and Brondby IF, its really a speciel atmosphere. :)

It is an interesting take on how people in the UK always seem to get ripped off and never get value for money compared to going to other countries like Denmark where you got your flight, accommodation, food/coffee and got to see a couple of football stadiums all under the price of a return ticket of going from Glasgow to Brighton.

Privatization of basic transport infrastructure rarely results in anything but higher prices. There are exceptions, but to my knowledge only when a market is regulated to ensure effective competition. People need the infrastructure, and thus have no real choice but to pay whatever is demanded, resulting in the developement of a giant leaches, sucking the life out of the rest of the economy !

@@HrHaakon No, it does not ruin Capitalism, it is a feature of Capitalism. It does however ruin competition, this is why Capitalism needs to be regulated. Strong anti trust laws, limits on size, taxes promoting reinvestment etc.

If you are budget traveling in Denmark, never use 7-11 or similar, typically 24 hour stores, super expensive. Go to a supermarket like Netto or Coop 360

I went to Berlin 15 years ago, saw home games for both Hertha and Union who were then in the Regionalliga Nord, fell in love with Union. Because they are now doing so well, home tickets are impossible to get. I have managed to get a ticket for Bayern Munich v Union next month. Have never been to Munich before, so have extended the trip to 10 days and looking to also take in home games of 1860 and Uberhaching. Ground hopping is fantastic, especially abroad, and also at lower levels in the U.K. keep up the good work.
