One needs to trace the star onto card stock & cut out. Then trace and cut out 2 stars from double sided fusible interfacing. Then trace and cut out 2 stars from fabric. On one side layer the star, then fusible interfacing, then fabric and press with warm to hot iron to fuse the layers together. Repeat this on the other side of the star card stock. I used fabric glue to attach the star to the tree. This is how I did it, hope it helps somewhat.

My pattern 5:14 arrived the other day and my husband helped me cut out my templates yesterday. I will pick out my fabrics today and hope to cut out the fabrics and batting today. I’ve made a list of how many I need for family and friends and plan to start a production line tomorrow. Thanks so much for the pattern! ❤ 4:29

I am also working on this tree pattern. When it comes to the template #1 I can't find any suggestions on how to finish. The direction are not clear. Is there anyone that can explain?

Branch 1 is almost the same. If I remember correctly, cuz I finished it a few days ago, lay one piece of fabric on branch 2 with the tip facing towards the tree branch. Then lay next pice of fabric right sides together. Then put batting on top of this. Then follow instructions for sewing. I think you do need to do a couple of stitches at the bottom but not all the way across. It was a little hinky. Would have been good to have video of it. Then turn right sides out like the other pieces.

How do you sew the top/final layer (ie the pointy bit), please? That's the one bit I can't easily fathom and would have been extremely useful. It's quite small and you also need to be able to sew it without sewing in the bits below it, then turn it right side out, AND for it to still be pointy! I'm foxed! 😢 TIA for any guidance.
