I love the fact that your grandpa taught you how to quilt and that he is your inspiration. My grandmother is my inspiration. I remember her hand quilting when I was a little girl but before she could pass the skill on she developed Parkinson's. Now at 44 my husband bought me my first sewing machine and I'm currently quilting. I love every step of the process and it makes me feel close to her. Thank you for your inspiration and all that you do I love watching your Channel. Thank you.

Angela, you look and sound so much more comfortable in front of the camera. You are absolutely fabulous when you are unscripted (more or less). Really enjoyed your episode. How long did you get with your husband's grandfather? He must have been thrilled to have you to share his love of quilting. All the best and continued success! p.s. You look gorgeous!

Oh Angela, you are an angel! I have a bunch of scraps of fabric from my mom's years of raising 6 kids on the farm and making the clothes we (and she) wore. I started cutting them into 2 1/2 inch squares already because I knew I'd make a scrappy quilt from the "colors of my mom's love" and now I have the perfect pattern to use. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm still and will always be a farm/country girl! This will make the perfect heirloom quilt in honor and memory of my mom. Thank you.

Angela, I have been enjoying your show so much. You are so fun! Just a tip I use. When I open a jelly roll I use a lint roller, but I use it on both outside edges before I actually unroll it. It gets lots of the fuzz and threads before you start.

Thanks for the cheerful lift to my day!! Tiny tip to make you happy, too: I figured out that if I take my lint roller to the cut edges of my jellyrolls BEFORE I open them, I can fill up 2 or 3 sheets with lint! Really cut down on the mess. Thanks for sharing your loving quilt and your ideas AND your suggestions for quilting it, too. Love, love, love your Midnight Quilt Show, Angela.

I bought the Grandpa's Cupboard quilt kit from Quiltsy. I love the fabrics and colors though I have never sewn with flannels. But I agree that family heirlooms are precious! I have a Double Wedding Ring quilt that was pieced by my great grandmother and my grandmother. I see fabrics my grandmother used to make clothes for me and my sisters. The quilt top was stored in a brown paper bag for at least 50 years. I sent it to a hand quilter since that is how my grandmother would have done it. There was also a shoe box with extra pieces and the templates. The hand quilter said the fabrics ranged from the early 1920's to the late 1960's. There were shirtings, drapery fabric, etc. Which all the different weights did a number on her fingers! I put the extra pieces and the templates that were cut from the backs of Hallmark cards in a shadow box. I also have a couple of other quilts from my grandmother and all of the quilts are my prized possessions!

What a wonderful stroll down Memory Lane! I have a quilt that my late mother (born in 1915) pieced when she was 17. It was quilted by her mother or her favorite sister (she couldn't remember which one). Quilts are the threads that bind generations together.
