We teach our kids the most important values in life when we go hunting. This is where boys become men and men become mentors.
@survivalaustralia0112 жыл бұрын
well done, teaching kids resposability of firearms use and the responsibilty of taking life also teaches them how fleeting like is, it gives them confidence in their world and of the lives of thoes around them . exellent life skills that city dwellers have lost great vid

In a lot of cultures yeah. I don't see some people's big problem with hunting. Hunters are mature, responsible individuals, and they strive to be as humane as possible in what they do. I think it's wonderful. I also think the taste of deer is wonderful.

The kind man who took this young fellow on the hunt that clearly meant so much to him made a comment that everyone seems to be ignoring... "you do not need to kill an animal." The man was explaining about how this boy needed someone to spend time with him, out in nature. We ought to start spending more time with our kids. That is what I get out of this video. I'm not for hunting or against it. It's too bad not every orphan kid gets to hang out with someone who will teach them something.
@HeyImBrim14 жыл бұрын
Pure and simple, hunting is a sport. It was started as a fun activity. It's good for family and friend bonding, it produces food for families and the general public, and it helps keep control of the animal population. Also, it helps keep a strong gene pool for future hunters.

@Ivory648 awesome, thanks for the feedback. I know the benefits, it actually makes sense..but I do realise there are issues regarding hunting, how it has in history caused many issues for the envrionment, it depends where and who...as usual in most cases. Cheers man, and goodluck while on the hunt! Or if not you, ur family :D

I find it ironic that this boy tragically lost his family so this older guy who actually seems like a good guy takes him out in the woods and teaches him how to kill. I also find it crazy to tell people to go out and enjoy nature while they blast it to kingdom come. I come from a family of hunters who tell me if you don't shoot them to keep there numbers down they will starve in the winter.

Anthropomorphizing food animals doesn't mean that human rights become intrinsic to these creatures. People will always hunt, fish, cook and live. No amount of hissy, prissy protests or social engineering will change things. Meat is food, it's the way we are.

There should be laws against that. 500 dear is a year's supply of one of the healthiest meats around for 500 families. Since we're pretty much wiped out the natural predators of deer and hogs it's vital that they are kept in check to stop the entire ecosystem being ruined (taking out apex predators is never a good idea) but that's absolutely no reason to waste the meat, hide and other things that come out of a kill. Disgusting.

Nice shot. I once did a perfect lung shot on a doe, she flipped and died. Instant death. Sometimes they will run a little, but its just the shock. My last buck ran 50 yards and landed dead after a 50 yard shot. Just make sure you eat it too!
@abrown05198015 жыл бұрын
I agree, I would never teach my son the blatant disrespect for life hunting shows. Hunting for game should be outlawed. They say they're conservationists yet they do this for game? Please.

@warblerab then look it up, kosher meat is meat that is hung up while the blood is drained out of it, this is a longer process and thus makes it more expensive. apparently now they have some thing that stuns the cows before they are killed, i dont know much about that though

@21lax14 жыл бұрын
@warblerab first of all it doesnt take hours for a deer to bleed out, longest ive seen while hunting was maybe 5 to 10 minutes. and i think they run more from the fear of the noise, ive shot deer with a bow and arrow and itll just keep on walking like nothing happened until it drops dead 30 steps later. doesnt seem like too much torment to me

@95ellington you should contact your state hunting organizations or your states fish and wildlife department. you can easily find someone who is willing to take you out and teach you. most will let you use one of their guns. if you think waiting so long would be boring look at alternatives like squirrel hunting or even trapping. with trapping you can make a little money while you enjoy the outdoors.

@J801506 I see animals being "humane & compassionate" @ a local city park every day.The squirrels are always chasing each other from trees &/or piles of acorns while cats & dogs stalk the squirrels,birds dive bombing them,or a raccoon or two living in that park. Yes,my friends & neighbors,animals are more compassionate than humans are.We don't normally fight over good hunting spots(food sources) except for yelling @ each other.

Why would anyone want to kill a deer? I remember the first time i saw a herd of them They were so majestic and magnificent.... @redleg269 I had a similar experience here in Scotland, Roe deer was hit by a car and left with 7 people standing around it on the road, when i got there she was lying with a shattered pelvis bleating and frothing at the mouth with all these people looking at her and patting her, I only had my knife on me so i took her to the side of the road and ended the spectacle, the people then proceeded to tell me I was evil etc...

@Missrainbowmuffin the ratio depends on the hunter if you suck at shooting dont hunt cuz you will would the deer.but if your good youl get 50 out of 60 deer you shoot with bow and with gun you will get 60 out of 60

Now I hunt but i do Have respect for these animals. I take just what my family needs. Usually that is just one deer. But just because a few hunters just kill for the fun of it. Does not mean the rest of us are just like like them. I'm not knocking your life style just leave us alone ok. not trying to be mean or anything

@questionsamson I was not quoting you when I asked if that was the only way to bond with a kid. you used the 'bonding' issue as if it was somehow supporting your position; I showed it does not since pretty much any activity can make you bond with a kid be it good or bad. certainly, that they choose to kill animals for fun does not say it is good or bad to do it at all. I would sincerely appreciate if you provided me with such paper through PM. thanks in advance!

One question for hunters...Now I do archery but would never shoot an animal because honestly I do not see a need, then again it would be more humane than the meat my family buy...gotta love city living aye? Anyways I wanna ask if the statistic is true that for every animal you shoot, one goes injured and escapes, the average ratio for hunting so I have read and been told. I am not against eating meat, but I do prefer alternatives when possible...If I was able to i would wanna learn this method
@lecagot212 жыл бұрын
Hunting is cool.
@doughesson13 жыл бұрын
@Missrainbowmuffin Hunters paid the freight for conservation by buying licenses to fund wildlife agencies.Anti hunters routinely waste that money by filing lawsuits to stop hunts designed to cull excess animals from an area which doesn't have enough space or food for the animals. They don't understand that the hunts usually take place AFTER the agency in question tried to relocate some of the animals first.

Perhaps. I understand the hunting for food, but not that many are hunting mainly for food. Otherwise why pass up other deer for one with a nice rack? Or video yourself making the kill? I have no problems with killing for putting food on your family table. and you make valid points

So you go out and kill something so it won't die. THATS INSANE... How do the hunters know they are killing the ones who will starve do they ask the deer how it's doing. Generally hunters kill the biggest and the best because of there ego's. They don't shoot the lame one in the group like a wolf pack which weed out the weak.

As far as hunting for sport come on. Its only hunting if something knows it's being hunted. Look at the video there sitting in a 5,ooo dollar elevated tower. look at the size of the scope he's using and remember a bullet travels thousands of feet per second. How could anyone miss. The only thing that could make it easier was if the deer was tied up or fenced in. I think to much.

@tooskatebd4 the problem is you do not take into account the interests of a being that can suffer and wants to go on living. you say you kill the animal for food... could you eat something that does not create suffering such as grains instead of meat? but you indeed kill the animal for pleasure and fun: for the fun of going hunting and for the pleasure of eating it. really, there is no justification for us, in a rich nation, to kill animals for food. it is not good for the poor, too.
