My Dad recently died aged 102. It was only in his latter years that he would be drawn to talk about WW2,albeit very sparingly. He could remember quite clearly his best friend being blown up in the same convvoy, just a ship away. It brought him to tears. I have so much respect to those thousands of young people who were proud to fight for their country. However, I wonder whether that would be the case today. Thank you to all those involved and RIP.

Since that time, our Zionist imperialistic political system have been systematically destroying our democracy, freedom, human and civil rights, We don't have a democracy, freedom,

As an ex soldier in my late fifties I find it very sad that the time has come to say goodbye to these brave men of WW2 and I'm even sadder that the world we now live in has even less room for their memory. It seems that despite the huge sacrifices made by that stoic generation the world is very sadly not a better place and it doesn't look like it will improve anytime soon. The emptyness I feel about the waste of that human sacrifice is indescribable and makes me feel that the human race is not worthy of it. I probably have about 20 odd good years left in me god willing and I sincerely hope I am proved wrong before I pass so at least I might at least sleep better than those men passing now.

Very, very sadly the point of focus will leave when the last WW 11 veteran dies, there will be no-one shedding tears on the beaches while remembering their fallen friends. While we will remember, the poignancy of those moments will never be repeated. Ww11 is the only war that the whole family took part in. The women putting on a brave while being bombed or cooking with miniscule rations, children scouring hedgerows for berries or collecting scrap metals, the reserved occupations working hard, all beavering away to support our BRAVEST OF THE BRAVE.

We thought for the genicide of jews/ blacks and even hair and eye colour... at the cost of lifes and money with the reward of peace of mind that such evil should not exist. Britain was the first to end slavery, we enforced it around the world, we lost more of our soldiers lives ending slavery than the amount of lives we saved. Even to today african slavery continues but in its own countries yet white people are still blamed yet they are doing it to there own people. I'm really proud of my grandfather for fighting real wars.. wars today are over land, gold, oil and political power thats why no one would enlist today as its unjust.
