1:10 there were 15th century german kettle helmets that had a brim so low they required eyeslits to see, but I don't know of any medieval helmets that had a brim as well as face protection.

I think the reinforced kettle helm was inspired by WW1 German helmets that had an additional plate that you would strap into the helmet to help against shrapnel and sniper shots for peaking over the trench.

Hey GoGoDani, love the channel. I wanted to share some theories I built around conqueror's odd selection of certain helmets. I believe I have a theory on why there is an extra plate on the front of the helm you talked about. In times of war, there was very little to keep yourself on the brink of sanity, and with a convict, there is much less to take delight in or cherish as a keepsake like a locket of your wife for example. Because a conqueror has no real memoir to have to keep themself grounded, they might take a liking to a piece of gear no matter how damaged it is. What the plate tells me is that a large attack may have broken the front part of the helmet, because things like shugoki's kanabo and other heavy or armor breaking weapons could very much do so if taken enough of punishment. The conqueror, having little funds and with little to stay attached to, go to have their helmet fixed if there was a bond grown with it. Slapping on a new plate is more often than not cheaper than making a whole new helm complete with mask, especially so since the general attire of conqueror is spending as little as possible. A second theory of mine about Regulus helm doo rag. Following the cheap idea, the helmet itself may lack huge amounts of comfort or does not sit on the head very well or both. The rag may have been used to attempt solving both of these problems. My third and final helmet theory: The one with the bearded face. I believe it may be a symbol of humiliation, weaponized rage or dedication of the convict's keeper or jailer or warden, whichever term. Imagine having to wear a helmet whose mask was of the face belonging to the person you as of now hate the most, or admire for his mercy, or to flatter for better food. I came up with this because regardless of gender, the mask stays the same. Now it could also be that female conqueror wants to be taken as a fierce male warrior instead of a woman to be disregarded, but it's all a theory. Please do share your thoughts, I'd love to hear what you think!

Gunpowder Grenade were more popular in China was known as "The thunder crash bomb" and usually in ball shape like pretty much how early grenades are, stick grenade are much more modern from what I remember and if anything, that mace can't be gunpowder grenade and most likely a incendiary grenade since the Roman used it and inspired by Greek flamethrower

Actually, I truly believe the Woeful Persuasion chest is in fact a full brigandine and there are several reasons to believe this is the case. - First and most obvious, this is the only set that has severla studs around the entire thing, even on the sides, and they are in a pattern aimilar to that of a brigandine. - Second, the armor set that it came with doesn't include sleeves that are connected to the chest, and as we know, a brigandine only covers the torso of the user so that could also be a signal. - Third, it's shape overall is very similar to a brigandine, and while brigs didn't reach all the way down to the knees and the bottom part looks very floppy when Conq moves, the upper part looks very rigid and is exactly how you'd expect a brig to look. - And finally, while it does look more like leather, there were brigandines that had a leather cover instead of cloth, so it is possible that this is in fact a brigandine. So yeah, it looks like Conq has more armor than PK, Gryphon and even BP depending on how you look at it.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but I believe there were some varients of the kettle helm that did cover at least half the face (usually the top half, with the eye slits being on or above the brim), I think there are some German examples of this. There is also some (not much) evidence of kettle helms being worn in conjunction with a bevor to create a kind of hybrid enclosed helmet, with the brim of the helm and the edge of the bevor serving as the eye slit.

There is a helmet that kinda has a "visor" and that would be the "german kettle helmet" that was made in the 15th century (by typing on google you can see pictures of what I mean). The brim of the helmet protruded down and had slits for the eyes for additional protection, but retained its advantage for the fighter to breathe if it wasn't paired with a bevor. It would probably still have been accessible but the compromise between sight and additional protection made the german variant less popular.

Actually Conqueror chest armor is fine because in the wiki it is said that the Conqueror does wear plate armor under the cloth.

The only kettle helm that had face coverage was the visored kettle helm which is my favourite 15th century helmet and hope they give it to conq

The only kettle helm that I’m aware of that covered the face were seen later on in the medieval period. They didn’t actually cover the face per say, but they had two slits in the brim for you to be able to see through, allowing you to lower the brim of the helm over your face. If you were to combine this with a bevor of some sort to cover the lower half of your face, you could theoretically have full coverage. But if you’re going to go through all that work, why not just use a sallet or some other form of visored helm?

Food for thought, I think those disks on the armor sets are sort of rewards or "steal" from the battlefield, with Conqs being criminals. It'll stand to reason they'd probably take rewards or something from the battlefield. Since there's four sets, we could say each one has "coins" or steal of each faction. The knights, the samurai, vikings and the Wu Linn. Just a small theory I wanted to throw in

Did you notice with the regulus chest and its variants that he is wearing a coat of plates underneath his surcoat that cover his chest and back? You can actually see them just peaking on his right when you look closely. I only noticed them after I checked the wiki where it mentioned the metal plates. Would the metal plates that are on these variants of chest plates be considered realistic for the conquerer? Especially for pairing it with an enclosed helm or Sallet?

Might be a dumb question but Conq also has an arm armor variation that I had questions about I think it's called Bazett or something like that completely disregarding the spike on the right shoulder I wanna talk about the like gloves and everything I understand the chain mail on it isn't the best but I wanted to know if the leather on the gloves and the armor on it itself would be enough to with stand maybe arrows or blows. According to the wiki, conquerors wear "plate armor hidden beneath cloths and leather with their faction's color embroidered on it," but I have no idea if that would realistically work due to like the sizes of stuff and whatnot lol

Maybe he does have armor underneath his clothes, but I wish they should give conqueror's better armor design where we can see steel plate armor he's wearing on his chest. The only armor I use for conqueror is the mortal enemy outfit and woeful persuasion outfit, also the megrez arms except the one I was using have spikes on the shoulders.

I did it in kenjusu cosplaying as conqueror and it was a lot of fun albeit a little chilly although I live in the land Downunder. I also said "macte vertute" to my group and my coach understands some Latin and then I proceeded to beat the snot out of every person in the group but blocking a flail with a katana wasn't safe, smart or practical even though everyone was dressed like the samurai and they had no clue how much a flail can be contorted and flexed. On top of all that the also forgot that I know the moveset of every boss fight in Dark Souls 3 off by heart and yes I did the "Champion Stundyr charge" with a glaive (basically a single edged spear) and crossing Pontiff Sulyvahn (arming sword and longsword(witch can be one handed with ease)) and Champion Gundyr (halberd) with Conqueror and lawbringer made for a lot of pain and yes I was wearing plate armour similar to conqueror that I had tailored to me over a gie and it was rather comfortable. Hell, I went round the Nurburgring nordchlife in my Ford GT (a wide bodied 3.5L twin turbo EcoBoost v6) while wearing my actual suit of gothic field plate (quick disclaimer, I'm the same height and build as doomguy in doom eternal and all the weapons and armour are tailored to me) that should go to show how little full plate restricts movement. The armour that I used for Conqueror was as easy to move in as if I wasn't wearing it and I had a lot of fun doing it and I ha designed some "for honor" characters of my own and one of them is the praetor; a Greatsword wielding knight that has a finisher called lord of cinder because it follows the tune of the first 8 bars of Gwyn's theme of dark souls.

Yes I do plan doing the whole roster. I have a fair bit of knowledge on the Samurai, and Vikings is just more European history so I feel mostly confident on that as well. But anything I don't know, I am always willing to learn. All of these videos take a bit of research (sources are posted in the description), so doing more research isn't anything I am afraid of. For now though, I am going to try and finish the knights, and then I'll probably bounce around between different heroes after that. Highlander, Orochi, Kensei, and Warlord are just to name a few.

As far as I'm aware, the wear and tear of the armor for each character is due to lore reasons. They lost pretty much everything when the factions came together so everything they use is pretty much all they've had for a long time.

So I just checked again, and it looks like there is no chainmail underneath the armor, at least from what is visible. There is a chainmail square that he wears over his chest, almost like the single plate that Warden wears over his chest sometimes, but I could hardly constitute that as armor by itself. On the base sets of armor he does have a type of brigandine or coat of plates of some sort. But there are way too large of gaps in between each plate and overall, it's just going to get him killed faster.

One thing I like about some of Conq's executions and signatures is that we see the Flail whip around and hit the shield. If I HAD to use a Flail then I'd want a shield for that same reason. A lot of the time Conq isn't even swinging the Flail to hit anything. If not for his shield, he'd hit himself way more often by just doing normal stuff
