I know this is an old video but something i noticed is that the fighting in this CGI gameplay wasn't as arcade as we ended up getting. It seemed more like 1 hit kill game with a stamina bar that if depleted opened you up for a finisher. Also seems that armor sometimes could save you from an instant kill but that is on the side note.

I think the weird design philosophy of the Warden could _possibly_ be attributed to the original lore and story of For Honor; where the world and older generations of the factions were screwed due to the cataclysm and resources were scarce, so the man just had to "make do" with whatever he could scavenge or cobble together (and managed to luckily snag himself some premium gauntlets for his default fit.) Though I also speculate that Ubisoft most likely changed their mind on this when creating the other knights or factions early on considering how much this design philosophy contrasts pretty much almost everyone else in the game.

One thing to mention is that the shoulder pads being symmetrical is kinda accurate to medieval armour. Knight armour like King Henry VIII had a larger shoulder pad on the left arm while the right arm had a smaller shoulder pad because Henry VIII was right handed and would have used his right hand for his weapons meaning that it had to have more mobility while the left shoulder pad was used for extra protection.

If you see those giant statues on top of knight Maps those people are Wardens you can see how much they have been in Decline with the state of their armor😂

My guy if you see the chainmail on his arms then it's a shirt he's got something underneath the coat just cuz you can't see it doesn't mean it ain't there

The gold and the silver is rubbed on to the armor it's not actually made out of those materials😂

I think the wardens jerkin is the most complicated part of the armor sometimes it's made out of padded gambeson sometimes it's made out of Rawhide for leather and then has strips of chainmail and steel sheets bolted onto it weird but cool without the jerkin he would probably look like a regular crusader

If you're wondering where the rest of the mail is on default Warden it's underneath the padded Jerkin which sits on top of the chainmail and the chainmail sits on top of the gambeson it's not full chainmail black covers the arms

Wardens by their nature are the most knightly out of all the knight faction but their Ancient Order is really mostly mercenaries now only a Legion Warlord can really knight them I'm pretty sure they dates to just after the end of the Roman Empire before the collapse When the continents of the world shifted

It got lost as the game evolved, but at launch the assassins sucked at minion clearing to discourage using them like a vanguard. They were intended to sneak around on the flanks and, well, assassinate. Or steal unguarded zones. As the game changed, every hero became capable of doing any task.

Some how the cgi team did a better job than the game devs

The more I watch these videos the more I look at my armor carefully and pick some decent pieces that make sense and are leveled up well.
