Grand cavalier speed up isnt useless at all, currently 200+600 dodge attacks have an issue on being able to punish certain bashes like warlords, bps etc on reaction if the opponent has their guard in the same direction beforehand they can block them. Its much harder to do if not impossible vs 533 ms dodge attacks. This means pirate will be able to punish those certain bashes more consistently. The dodge attack also has an enormous hitbox so the speed up means she will hit externals more quickly too

Too bad the majority of good warlord duelists are able to react to half the cast and pirate is no exception, this change will make her a little bit better but the best warlord duelist will still shit on the best pirate duelist. Or any top duelists playing warlord while another is playing pirate, the warlord still wins due to pirate's reactable offense

I though most dodge attacks could be blocked if performed on reaction to dodge fwd bash. And I kinda think it's fair, dodge fwd bashes are supposed to be true mixups, as the devs kind of confirmed with the 400ms TG, so being able to punish on reaction shouldn't be a thing. But maybe I'm not getting your point

If youre dodgeing bashes and traditionally unreactable mixups on reaction... You really dont deserve the guaranteed punish, dodge attacks are all enhanced for this reason... So if you're just that fast and frame diffing every move (youre most certainly not theres like 50 players in for honor who can reaction parry 400ms) you dont get a punish, instead you get a blocked attack and OKI to go into your offense, which is more than fair. No one should be getting every benefit without the risk 95% of players have to take. And that was the entire motive behind lower recovery bashes and enhanced dodge attacks with a delayed static input...

About the pirate side dodge attack change, won't the speed potentially allow pirate to interrupt hyper armor trades more reliably/in scenarios where it wasn't possible because of timings?

Tbh if they added side objectives in existent dominion maps it would make the gameplay way more fun in the long run than having a new layout with new decoration which we already have plenty and takes a shit ton of ressources. Im not against reworking maps tho.

i been playing since beta and after awhile i put down assassins all together because it seemed like i always got stunlocked in 4's and my guard never got the chance to come up. so im happy with the guard changes

Happy with the patch, no real complaints (even as a Medjay player). Just wish they'd improve Medjay's flow between stances, especially now that they've nerfed him. If I had ONE criticism, it would have been nice to see Storm Rush's "buff" be only +2 damage instead of the full 4 damage.

18 dmg storm rush would be cool. And i had an idea for medjay, what if he could after a zone attack do another zone attack with the other stance and switch to it? Like if you do a zone attack in staff then another zone its gonna be the axe mode and then you’re in axe mode.

The storm rush is super easy to stop, you literally give him a light or a zone (quickly) even if it's feintable, it doesn't make that much of a difference the recovery from his feint is not too good and not every orochi player will feint. and parry your offside light

True, that's usually what I do the animation between the kick and storm rush are different enough that most people should be able to light orochis out of storm rush. However a good player would see it coming and deflect it or parry it.

yeah only the top orochi players feint storm rush to bait a light interrupt so its a pretty fool proof way to beat it(unless your up against a reaction demon)

Once u learn storm rush parry they are litterally really easy, you can even deflect with heroes like glad for 37 damage. I wanted to see some roach buffs for 1v1 and i am perfectly fine with what they did i just hope his kit gets some love in the future

@@Taimur.Shairyar i am sorry for you, i was an old gen for 5 years and couldn’t react to anything. Switched to ps5 and now i can semi consistently parry highlander offensive lights on reaction. Haven’t tried old gen with performance mode tho so you should try it out and then just spent like 15min a day trying to parry lights in trainning. Even tho it might look impossible at first, developp tricks like looking at the characters face instead of their guard (idk that works for me) and you should be at least semi consistent at 60 fps with training.

I can see your point about storm rush being annoying at low to mid level, but at that point wouldn't infinite light chains be more problematic than spammed stormrush? Move is still 600 ms after all

@@fkkfreeze you talked about the move looping as if it was the problem - it really isn't (bar infinite gank, but that's getting removed). The fact orochi also has kick makes the mixup kind of usable even at high level, I agree, but it's not the point I was addressing

The thing with infinite light chains is you can still dodge out of it. Storm rush is undodgables on all sides. If storm rush wasnt undodgable then the community would have no problem of storm rush being looped. That's why its hated. People can loop between storm rush and kick and the community at lower level cant handle dealing with it.@@Wird97

If you guys really think it's problematic, do you think making the indicator 500 ms would fix it? Or is the undodgeable property itself that you don't like? On another note, how do you tag people at the end of your comment?

All in all, I think those are amazing changes. Removal of that shitty non-static guard is very exciting, medjay nerfs are very welcome, pirate needed buffs for quite a while now and orochi finally lost his extreme gank potential. Maybe the patch wasn't perfect, but no patch will ever be perfect. I can't wait for the patch personally.

Maybe they should give all Charakters without a deflect their guard on dodge back. That way the Assassin's wouldn't have the mentioned upper hand in defence.

As a pirate main myself, just because I enjoy dodge hero’s but also didn’t want to play someone who was considered op like orochi or tiandi, and playing pirate now with these changes feels so so smooth and, honestly, if this is all I get now, recovery cancels and less time sitting still, then I will be happy for the near future. She in no way needs a rework or buff over the rest of the cast currently because of these ever so slight changes. Still would love a rework but I know I’ll probably never get it so I’m just happy to get these changes. 🏴‍☠️

Can someone tell me what performance mode changes exactly on ps4 fh? I feel like there are more fps .. more than 30... cause I can finally block lights (and parry a bit) on reaction... but not 60 fps , so what are the changes exactly on ps4?

Hey Freeze, unsure if you'll catch this but an explanation of why LB sometimes gets a guaranteed 22 Dmg on Light parry wall splat, and then sometimes the same moves gets the full 25? (Impale 1 DMG top heavy 20 DMG Chain tap light does 1 to 4 DMG )

same reason some 400ms lights after a heavy after wallsplat are damage reduced. they hit too early. you can test this with zerk throw someone into a wall, then buffer side heavy + light the light will be damage reduced

I'm all for berserker being a main 4's pick again, say what you will but berserker meta was one of the highest quality eras in for honor, in 4's simply external blocking/parrying guts 80% of his kit out of the window ... But the layerable positioning and attack useage berserker has, is a much more engaging and outside the box creativity rewarding gameplay for both berserker and the people trying to punish him which to me is much more fun than modern bash confirm, pin reset ganks and hitboxes that hit everybody instead of hitbox's that actually hit an intended target in a specific position like berserker has... People really blow out of proportion how strong/annoying berserker is simply because they struggle to react to his reactable moves, and they cant predict his predictable ones... In a 4v4 berserker should have almost no offense... Cause he doesn't, hes exclusively a punishing character with good peel for team mates and himself with the mobility to counterattack multiple people and peel multiple team mates.... He's stuck like that because external mechanics counter his offense... Which means he's not gunna attack. He wants to check with externals, punish recoveries and offense... Its counterable, hyper armor can out armor berserker, undodgeables lock down his mobility and evasion. And if you have both... Then berserker has to fight you specifically. If berserker is a character you just cant work around reguardless of the berserkers skill.... Play warmonger... She has bash offense, great bash ganks when youre expereinced with hitstun timings and how to reset them without a pin. She has a great undodgeable thats easy to punish dodge cancel hero's like berserker whos extra did get because of the dodge attack external... And WM has great finisher heavy armor with low recovery to trade with berserker after hitting an undodgeable which is very favorable to WM and not many characrers can punish berserker dodge attack canceling on reaction and not be out traded for it. Aramusha, kyoshin are both okay just make sure to use top undodgeables as kyo to avoid letting assasins get a. Accidental free option select on one of your bash/undodgeable mixups And every other dodge cancel charscter/dodge bash character is another good counter to berserker in 1v1 and in 4v4. So people can complain but they complained worse at BP, and worse at gryphon, and worse at pirate. And worse when orochi was reworked. The highlander reworks a huge let down for me, simplifying a once dynamic and complex character down to 1 catch all mix up as the best choice.... And 1 catch all defensive dodge attack as the best dodge attack option. But the berserker change to make him solid guard is beautiful. The other assasins Will thrive aswell but the reflex guard was always his weakness when it came to survivability in 4's and fighting 400ms light characters.

@@Bash_Minimal Well they basically kept the same animations, but had to redo them because of programmer problems i dont really understand and they did not describe in detail. Any change to the existing reflex guard like simply increasing the duration caused unforseen problems at a different location. They were so dedicated to removing it that they started from scratch to avoid the problems. They had the original motion capture artist(s?) Redo the Animations for the 3 guard stances (with reflex guard there is the "4th" stance animation whise "hidden guard") and tried to specifically not change the heroes style, feeling and look as players would not want that.

I think Kyoshin and Afeera both need Stamina Buffs and there hit boxes adjusted. There both good characters. But lack Stamina. One or two faints and your out of Stamina. I can't tell u how much there second hit misses all the time. No other buff just Stamina and hit box adjustments for now. I think there good besides that. I'd love to see Centurion get a dodge attack. Light hair starter, just a heavy or a punch. One of those three options. At the minimum at least a dodge light.

I'm glad they removed reflex guard, but I can't get over how they did it. Now most of the assassins just look horrible in neutral, I used to love their idle animation with their weapons down. Now with their guards always fixed, characters like peacekeeper and berserker actually look too bad to ignore. That's just my opinion though, obviously the function makes up for it, but I don't think I can play some assassins anymore. Some got lucky, orochi and Shaolin don't look too bad, but the others? I don't know

For honor Community hating pirate…community if you don’t get off pirate already, she’s been nerfed already countless times ya cry babies, she was fine already from the start and hella fun it’s not like there isn’t more annoying characters in the game plus with all these changes going on only a few characters getting better but with most it’s either reduced the mixups, flexibility, and the versatility of a character so instead of influencing less spamming it’s only been making it more common and frequent in-games it’s annoying atleast if your gonna spam good for you, the least the game can do is let me keep my fun characters and handle it

The damage increase to orochis storm rush isn't really an increase. They removed the 4dmg confirmed light on storm rush specifically, and added it directly to the attack.

If you did the confirmed light you could be lighted out of another storm rush. Out of any light hitstun you can be lighted out of a storm rush. That is how mid level and low level players dealt with the mix up. They read it correctly, but since they can’t parry or react to it, they just lighted. Now it’s removed, but the damage stayed the same. Even reading the mix correctly will not let you interrupt it. So it now gives the full safety of the 16 damage version, without needing to give up that 4 damage.

@@EvermoreUnicorn Technically buffed. Hitstun from the initial hit has better hitstun for his unblockable than going into unblockable from double light. It was a trade between extra guaranteed damage or potential higher damage. Now, there's no choice.

With storm rush I feel like they should rever it so only the top version is undodgeable and the sides can be dodged, so characters without fullblocks can do something besides trying to interrupt. This would actually work now that guard gets removed on dodge.

@@Maximum_Wattsfor the majority of players, they can’t parry on reaction to animation. Even if the move itself is slow, the indicator is insanely fast. They should either make the indicator last longer and make the animation match it, or just do the change OP suggests.

This is the same problem as when people whined and moaned about Valkyrie's bash being unreactable and got it nerfed into the ground... All because the indicator was only 400ms, while ignoring the fact that the animation is more telegraphed than an Elden Ring boss. If people are reacting only to flashy colours and shapes, instead of looking at what the character is doing, they deserve to get hit.

Don't listen to the negative nancies. Game is probably is in the best shape its been in balancewise in quite a long time and with reflex being removed alot of character's viability just went up too. Off the top of my head there really ain't anyone in the game right now that is so absurdly broken that they ruin lobbies unlike over a year ago. People who say this game sucks right now are just really bitter players who can't get good and just blame the game for them sucking at this point.

Why does berserker, a assassin have 130hp while highlander, someone who is beefy af has 125? And centurion, a almost fully protected commander has 120hp? Thanks ubisoft

To be fair both Highlander and Cent are hybrids, so it makes sense why they didn’t get higher near heavy levels of health. That said, they are only lower cuz of a zerk buff

Sure hes fine in 4s, but the changes i suggested hardly affect that, not like hes even A tier anyway. Kick being reactable puts almost his entire kit in the trash, and he has ZERO VIABLE OPENERS. @Mutantdogfangs Almost all characters at the true high level become useless with little to no viable openings because of how reactability is at that level to use so that's not really the point you think it is and isn't relevant at all to this. He is absolutely A tier at the least and full on S tier with his mass healing feats at the mid to upper mid tier of the game, which is where the overwhelming majority of players still with the game are currently at. It sounds like the problem you have with him is you are trying to play him like he's Orochi when he's meant to be played exactly as he is designed to be: a heavy back support character. He's the best teamfighter in the entire game and buffing his attack capabilities at this point, especially when he literally got nerfed with the "buff" you are saying he needs at his launch because of how oppressive that made him in teamfights, would literally destroy lobbies and send the game into a full on repeat of what it was like 2 to 3 years ago. You 1 v. 1 players are fascinating though, you only think about the 1 v. 1 side of things and it prevents you from thinking about the side of the game where the overwhelming majority of players are which is 4 v. 4 modes and the consequences of your ideas would have on the broader playerbase and modes because of it. Think your ideas through and stop making people deconstruct how terrible they are please, it's fucking exhausting having to deal with smoothbrained dueling takes like this because you can only think about rhat side of the game.

Lmao yeah multiple problems with this 1. It’s not the case that “almost all characters are useless at high level”. It’s only about >25%, and those characters are already seen as in need of buff by any semi competent players, not just top 1%. It is for sure the point I think it is. 2. You saying gryph is the best in game for dom makes it painfully clear what your skill level is, it’s laughable. You’re forgetting about 40% of the roster. 3. Since the kick being milliseconds faster clearly won’t affect you, how would making the dodge forward heavy (zero properties btw) allow you to “literally destroy lobbies” lmfao it’s a minuscule change to 4s. The players it doesn’t affect still have to make the same amounts of reads regardless. The delusion is palpable 4. Trying to be orochi? Wtf you on about? The characters are not similar in the slightest? 5. Believe it or not, I play both dom and 1s, and have considered it from every possible perspective before making my comment. It barely improves dom placement, makes him viable at high level 1s, doesn’t affect mid-low level (you) since they would be making a read based on the dodge forward anyway so the feint would be unnecessary, it’s a win win. How about before opining on game changes, you make sure you know what you are talking about.

The arrogance and overestimating worth of your own opinion and outward hostility at being wrong tells everyone looking in the comments who knows more about the character than the other tho, so good job. Gryphon will never get a change like this to be "perfect" because the devs understand he was designed from the beginning to be a teamfighter over everything else, so please, take this trash 1 v. 1 duelist mindset out of here, and stop talking. It's obvious this conversation will go nowhere given we have complete opposite experiences and opinions on the same hero. I doubt you consistently play 4 v. 4s enough either given your opinion on Gryphon since he's still one of the best characters in the game right now in 4s with the likes of Freeze evem having to say this. Please just buff orochi so I can play the game again. I decided like 2 years ago that I’ll only return to the game when orochi gets updates. Been playing orochi only since release, gets tiresome quick.

nerfing orochi in 4s and not addressing his issues in 1s is a joke. Ubi will never understand that there is virtually nothing they can do to orochi to stop all the hate he receives. They could switch his sword for mittens and there would still be a small village of potatoes complaining about him on reddit. Sure, this change is healthy for 4s and I agree with that 100% getting infinite stormrush ganked is diabolical and should have never been in the game but to fully nerf his ganking capabilities and not buff his duel capabilities is dumb. Orochi is C tier at best in duels, if you have the misfortune of fighting any average player on pc or a decent player on console 9 times out of 10 you will lose. His bash is reactable, his unblockable is reactable, and his stormrush is unusable against decent pc players and for some reason broken against newer console players. They should just keep these changes and speed up his animations so his bash and unblockable is unreactable on pc (unreactable stormrush is out of the question and is obviously broken) the funniest part about all of this is their inabiity to address 2 of the most problematic duelists alfeera and shamman.

Sped up kick still just incentivizes dodge forward gb/parry for high damage and more safety. Stormrush doesn’t really end up being anything but a chase tool in the end.

@@EvermoreUnicorn A sped up kick would make it what it was originally intended to be, a chain starter/opener because everyone was reacting to his neutral light so there was no way for him to enter his chains. They gave him the kick to battle this problem, which is why it had the original capability of recov dodge when whiffed. By making it unreactable orochi can enter his chain on the right read or get punished by a dodge attack or light parry on the wrong read. Empty dodge into gb as you mentioned rarely works as people can simply delay their dodge attack until they see the Gb indicator. So even if you made the right read as orochi and made your opponent dodge, you still won't be able to punish with a Gb if they're good enough at the game to delay their dodge attack. And if you try to Gb earlier to catch that dodge before they dodge attack, you will end up kicking due to the input timing (how long you can delay the kick)

Massive frustration about storm rush is putting it mild. The damage is high, and it's insane gambling to try to fighing it. 3 directions, whether or not it gets feinted. It's a strong move and I'm tired of having to play a character with a spamable undodgable or hyperarmor just in case there's an orochi. And even then the bastard even has the bash that is fast and hard to predict cause all cause the orochi is more reliant on dodges in his kit than Shinobi and Afeera combined

I’d love to see something like removal of side undodgeable but compensation with extended dodge recovery windows after stormrush to deflect any dodge attack attempts. Only problem is that in order to make stormrush scary, kick has to be scary, and if kick is scary, dodging forward and parrying or guard breaking is more damage for less risk

Reflex guard removal was the final nail in the coffin. Now assassins are fast and both defensive and offensive. Reflex guard is what kept them in check.

Yeah Beserker was literally one of the best 4 v. 4 characters in the game even before this reflex guard removal, he was basically the only assassain character who didn't have to deal with the guard because of his incessant hyper armor spam lol.

I've got far too much to say and not enough energy to say it, knowing it will fall on deaf ears.... In a nutshell, I've seen a few content creators complaining about the game being hard, but when I watch them, you can tell they've only spent upwards to 50hrs to maybe 200.... it takes way longer to learn this game and even more as the character roster develops..... I say all that to say, If you still having problems with orochi, it's a skill issue. 🤌 Ubisoft seems to be taking an older game away from the original fan base, and perfecting it for those without the time and or skill to play it.... 🤷 I mean no disrespect to those that do not play at a higher lvl than weekend warrior. This game wasn't that. I dont feel it should be going in this direction, but I also don't create games....

Struggling against orochi in this day and age is a genuine skill issue, especially if you're playing on pc. And I also agree that they are making changes to cater towards the newer/unexperienced player base who plays in the short run instead of the Lon run

How is storm rush the "most" retarded team jump infinite combo, without mentioning kyoshin, medjay, and shugoki lol. What they need to work on is this wonky GB hyper armor that randomly pops up as you're being thrown, making it so that teammates can't stop you from being ledged, but on the reverse a single attack stops the throw animation(this has happened consistently in games ive played), it's the most retarded thing ever, I'd rather be storm rush ganked.😂
