It sure does. I think many people purchase engines, run them a few times if any and then up on the shelves they go. I imagine many of Trainz.com items are from estates.

Nice engine RABS! Would you know if I could use a Lionel Lionchief remote with another brand of Bluetooth engine? And if not, do other engines from other brands have Bluetooth controllers like my lionchief engine? Have a merry Christmas 🎅

Lionel has a universal remote which is orange, but I believe just for Lionel product. I don’t think the remotes are compatible with other train brands. I know Menards engines all come with remotes that are Bluetooth and specific to their product line and specific engine they come with. I don’t know if any other companies have the Bluetooth remotes. Great Question. These days many are using their iPhones and iPads with a specific Lionel program uploaded to the devices as their controller to run there engines. I have an old iPad and I have an iPhone but really like the hand held remotes that the Lion Chief line has. I haven’t purchased a universal Lionel Remote but probably will some time to try it out, especially if I purchase a Lion Chief 2.0 engine or higher. Most of them don’t come with a remote and you have to use the universal remote or an iPad or iPhone as your controller. I haven’t ventured into the computer and router based system to run my trains. Maybe if I had a major layout and high end engines then I would but I enjoy the old school operation. The highest I have is Lion Chief. Mostly all conventional for me other than the Lion Chiefs.👍👍 Oh, if you purchase a Lion Chief engine and it comes with its own remote, it’s only specific to your engine it came with. It won’t run other Lion Chief engines. The Lionel universal remote will allow you to run I believe three engines off of the same remote. Merry Christmas to you as well👍👍👍👍

@RABSTRAINS thank you for the advice! I actually have the universal remote so I can run 3 engines you're correct. I have seen that mernards engines have the remote too. I had some trouble when I ordered a lionchief plus engine where I couldn't turn off the sound because the store staff member said that only lionchief 1.0 engines have a dedicated sound switch so I sent the 2.0 engine back to the store. I guess I'll stick with lionchief 1.0 because i like having the sound switch right on the engine
