I prefer to actively distrust the official ship measurements and consider the ship roughly the actual relative size to the Valkyrie model also seen here, and thus still small but still a "real" battlestar but one designed for finesse and special operations. Although we saw Osiris was no match for a basestar it was not there to duke it out in the first place. Probably would have been a much closer fight if it had been there to fight and not to deliver and protect a payload
