I'm at least 90% sure I have a sinus infection and am feeling puny. Here I am comforting myself with chicken salad on croissants, along with fruit, cookies, brownies, sweet tea, and a video from this channel. Feeling so British/old-timey Southern that I feel like I should have eaten that lunch with my pinky finger sticking out, lol! Our family is recovering from tough times and I'm feeling particularly grateful for our church for checking on us, pampering us, and helping us keep our fridge well stocked. We're keeping our spirits high and our friends are helping.

I always love seeing quality work-my first thought when I watched this video is that every fragment of wood in this house was stripped down to the bare wood, sanded, caulked, primed, then painted. That is an ENORMOUS amount of work! I know, because I did just that in my first house, built in 1952. And it was only 500 square feet! It still took me weeks to finish it. But the smooth, finished presentation is so worth it. Beautiful house, loved both the tour and the music. 😊

cool seeing the air ducts. I've heard about these in older homes but never saw them until now. they actually use PVC pipes in the walls to move the air so you don't need to fit in full sized ducts. plus it speeds up the air

The house was great, and I always love to hear Laine’s expertise. I wonder if that building in the back of the garden was also part of the property currently or in the past. Also-was painted woodwork the style in 1890, or would it have originally been stained? I thought for sure you would tell us!

It makes me so happy 😊 Natchez has always hyper focused on the Antebellum era (with good reason- the city has the largest collection of High Style Antebellum mansions in the nation.) But I feel like only recently has interest expanded to include earlier (The Creole, Frontier and Federal eras) and the postbellums as well. Natchez has some of the best Victorians in the state. And Vicksburg has some of the best in the nation

The space in this house! How beautiful! The built ins and light fixtures, and the Alladin lamps rocked my world. I watched twice! One on silent and in slowed down speed. I think I will get more details if I concentrate. This is so much like a Colonial style with the split pediment and highboy furniture. I love your❤ dress Laine. You are always pretty, and your clothes are an asset, not a detractor to the places you show. Kevin, what music did you choose!? Dramatic music definitely is a plus. I agree, Laine. That kitchen is stunning, and I know how you love that green. I love seeing a home where everything is 'classically vintage', rather than 'kitschy old fashioned', and they've added in the modern conveniences with such care. Even to the fancy black iron standing fan in the one bedroom, which I'm sure is a reproduction. The artfully painted wardrobe gives such a garden vibe to that bathroom. I wonder if there is a basement...my house sleuthing brain is in high gear, thinking of ways you could prove your 'wrap-around' house theory. Perhaps in the attic. It's great to share such ideas with you and the 'Nation'. If I mentioned something like that to my husband, I'd get an eye roll, though he can talk about WWII airplanes for hours, lol. A very fun tour. My only conundrum is how the house can be so much bigger on the inside than the outside! Hope you are enjoying fall weather too! :)
