You can't find a '62 Galaxie 500 as pristine as this; it's impossible. I'd love having it. Don't even WORRY about that clock!

The color is 'Wimbeldon White.' I owned a Gal 500 2 door hardtop brand new in EXACTLY the same interior/exterior colors as this one. Nicew looking cars - brought back memories. Good luck on your sale!

My second car was an all original, sky blue '62 Galaxie 500 four door that I bought in 1985. I absolutely loved that car. Mine had the 292 V-8, chrome visors on each door, and like yours, everything was operational except the clock. NO RUST. Great car, very dependable. She was always ready to go when I was. I wrecked her in 1987, smashing an Interstate guard rail and my left fender yet, she got me home just fine. A newer car would have required a wrecker. I drove it for 2 years before I could find a replacement fender and repaint her. I sold her in 2000, and wish I hadn't. I would love to have another one. Being a 2012 video, I'm sure yours is gone, but this has brought back lots of fond memories.

I've heard those 292s were kind of slugs, what was it like to drive?
@dam427412 жыл бұрын
Absolutely stunning Rick. The 62 Galaxie is my dream car because my Dad's was black and red with just a 292 and Cruise-O-Matic under the hood. I learned to drive in it and have always wanted another one. You're right as far as looks go; it is indeed one of the best looking Fords ever built. Not fond of the black interior though. Can't afford it but I'm guessing over $20 grand.

I’d love this car....paint it over in black & definitely repaint the insides of the hood, trunk lid and trunk, maybe restore the rear bumper, leaving the interior....the ‘62 is the best Galaxie IMO! This car is damn near PERFECT!!!

Why would you lower the value by changing the original color?
@504CreoleCrystal3 жыл бұрын
@@threadbarerag336 Because I’d love to have a black galaxie. I’d want it the way I want it. That said….other than the color I’d more than likely leave everything as is.

I had a black on black 2 door 390 4 barrel back in 71-72. This car is a beautiful family car. Funny how now these days how 4 door cars from that era look really good now.

Saw the listing on Ebay. Can't believe you haven't sold it yet! Sorry, I'm in the poor house or I'd buy it myself. I'm still a Galaxie fanatic. Best wishes to selling it soon.

The original shade of white for ALL early sixties Fords, Mercurys, and Lincolns was Corinthian White. The paint on THIS one was probably re-done in the later Wimbledon White. Oddly, of all Galaxies, this for some reason is overlooked by the Ford Faithful. I agree to disagree as much as you do as to why so.
