The only episode of this show that actually made me want to cry. Thanks for presenting this news so honestly. Fingers crossed 🤞

That last part....Whitecaps don't have to leave Canada. They can join CPL.

sad for soccer in canada.. I don't see them staying not enough deep pockets in BC.. Also as much as people hate on MLSE.. grateful for them. at least they spend and committed to Toronto market

Yeah imagine what Toronto sports teams would’ve been like if it wasn’t for mlse

Could they ownership group sell the MLS franchise rights to a group that might want to move the club, but keep the rights to the name/logo and sell those to Vancouver FC or another Vancouver CanPL club?

Common BC, keep the team!!!

I do not think the Whitecaps are going to leave Vancouver or MLS. I think there are investors willing to keep the team Vancouver team within Canada and it is early days right now.

Never thought id say this but i hope CSE steps up to buy since i dont think there are many others that have the money and desire. Unless Ryan reynolds can pull together an ownership group.

Will the price be brought down if they have to buy a new stadium and why keep the team in Vancouver with no assets

Unless the new owners are part of a multi-club network, the Whitecaps will leave the city
@danieltaylor836727 күн бұрын
mls will do what they can to keep the team in Vancouver. they want the money that comes with an expansion fee.

Without their own stadium the Whitecaps are doomed unfortunately. The shocking lack of atmosphere coming from Empire to BC Place still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

The Whitecaps are as good as gone. No way in Hell are they staying here.

why would Vancouver sack their manager, THEN post the team for sale? Makes no sense. the new owners would obviously want to hire their own people

How do you talk about this story without addressing the absurdity of MLS valuations? The Whitecaps lost something like 14 million dollars in 2023 and had the lowest revenue in the league. Forbes thinks they are worth $420 million? Meanwhile, the 49ers Enterprises just bought (over the last several years) Leeds United for $220 million. It makes no sense. Having said that, I do hope the Whitecaps will continue to play in MLS and remain in Vancouver, but I am not optimistic. I think it is more likely that the franchise is sold to an investor who moves the team to Vegas, Detroit or Sacramento. The Whitecaps will reappear as a CPL team and boss the league with their extensive academy program and huge season ticket base. And I will be happy to support the team while they are doing that as well.
