IMO, most places would have fudged and pre-warmed this motor before they started rolling the camera. I, for one, appreciate that he didn't do this while off-camera.. Would rather see him bumbling than something "staged" for slickness. VN750's are a well-known cantankerous rough-running motor when cold (for the first few minutes) and especially when incorrectly started.. I did think that the motor eventually idled acceptably well considering the motor was cold and he foolishly placed the choke back off (incorrect starting method) position when the motor was still cold. Adjusting the choke lever to set idle speed to approx 2-3,000 rpm for a couple minutes is the correct cold-starting procedure for this bike. Happy and safe riding! Daniel Houston

I absolutely appreciated this fact, and commented the same thing before reading your comment. That honesty would have me as a customer. So I thank the gentleman for being a gentleman. Thank you, sir (both of you).

Though I've never owned one, I've admired this bike ever since it was introduced (in the '80 s ?). These days, the fact that 'for a cruiser' it doesn't try to hide that it is liquid cooled, no fake cooling fins on the cylinders or head, is rather original (i.e. not a Harley traditional styling rip-off).

I ride this bike every day to and from work.... it's a great bike and I think it's very comfortable to ride but my old bike was a cbr so anything would be comfortable compared to that

I found that if you put on the choke and leave the throttle alone it will start right up. If you touch the throttle it stalls. After a minute you can take the choke off - even in cold weather.

Sometimes I rev mine too 5000 with the choke to get it to warm faster. Also trickle charger is key

I have a 2005 750 and it runs great. I did have to replace the stator but it’s awesome and I love it

I recently picked up a 2004 750 version of it. I am getting it fixed up now and it's been pretty easy to work on so far. The seats on these things are something you want to have done custom, the one that is on mine is just some older version that is there for looks, not even mounted and I am going to build one from scratch at this stage.

Are you sure about the price? For that much I can buy a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 900. Good luck finding a buyer! Good luck!

Are you kidding!? You think $3000 is too much?

Price can really vary. It seems with the back up on inventory due to worldwide lockdown has driven prices up. Couldn’t find anything used for less than 5K at a Kawasaki shop in Georgia yesterday.

Sure hope they Retro this bike or something with (handlebars in your lap) cause I loved bikes like that and wonder why new riders are against it. I put most of my miles on these bikes.

How bad is it to replace the starter
@skarsbartelson34368 жыл бұрын
there is tuxedo mod that you can do that allows you to replace it with out remove the engine. You take off the case and cut out some metal and put in a new plate and stater. It takes about 4-6 hours for a mediocre mech.

Which cruiser is a good for someone who wants to learn how to repair cruiser bikes? Some have told be the Honda rebel and others point to the Suzuki intruder models.

+moofushu I bought a Honda Rebel as my first bike and absolutely loved it! Put 13K miles on it in just under 3 years, took it on long trips, went from west central Illinois to central Michigan with no troubles. It's more of a city bike, but you can take it cross country if you need to, don't let anyone tell you that you can't. Only reason I gave it up was had to use it for trade in on truck, due to circumstances. Now I've got soemthing a little bigger. But I wish I still had the Rebel as a run around bike. I loved it.
