Hey man, your comment is a year old but I have some questions for you if you don’t mind: How have you liked the Vulcan 900 after a year of use? Is this an okay beginner bike? Some people say the concern is the weight of the bike but I’m 6’4” and 240 pounds so I don’t think some smaller beginner bikes would work. Anyways hope life is good, any info is appreciated!

Before you buy your first bike. Take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Safety Course. These are usually offered through your local community college and sponsored by local dealers. You will learn what you need to know what you need to survive and thrive in the street environment. Most of these courses will aid you in getting your license. Just for the record, there are three versions. The 900 classic (which you are riding) which comes with white walls, does not have a windshield or rear back rest. The 900 Classic LT does not have white walls, but comes with a windshield, rear back rest, and leather saddle bags. The seat, back rest pad and saddlebags are studded. And the third version is the 900 Custom which has solid rims instead of the spokes on the Classic & Classic LT. It also has front pegs that are set forward, instead of the floor boards on the other two, drag style handlebars, and matte black exhaust pipe shielding versus the chrome shields of the Classic & Classic LT. Everything else, on all three models is identical, and interchangeable. I own the 2017 900 Classic, and will tell you the biggest complaint about the bike is the stock seat, which is absolutely horrible. The only other complaint Vulcan riders seem to have, is the 5 speed gearbox. This bike would definitely be considerably more pleasurable to ride on the highway if it had a 6th gear. Although, I don't seem to experience much vibration from mine over 75 miles per hour that other owners complain about. But I have swapped out the stock hand grips, and added bar end weights, so its possible that the upgrade is cancelling out any vibration. I love this bike, and would buy it again in a heartbeat. The Vulcan has been around for a long time, and has changed very little. So parts are easy to come by used and aftermarket. It's the 12th or 13th Kawasaki I have owned, and everyone of them were seriously reliable. Several of them went well over 100,000 miles without the need for any major repairs. Just regular maintenance. You also can't beat the price of the Vulcan. And compared to the closest similar bikes, the Vulcan has the largest fuel tank, which was a big selling point since I like to ride long distances, but don't like to have to constantly be looking for gas stations. Definitely enjoyed seeing the very model I own on one of you reviews.

First bike considerations: Asked the sales guy about this, and we agreed, that 50 mph is 50 mph no matter what you ride. Great points on the seat height, mid horsepower, and easy handling with wide bars--those designs help new (or any) riders more than just the engine size.

I very much so love this bike it's a great smooth ride that's incredibly easy to handle. One thing I will say is ditch the stock seat as soon as you can, not the greatest on your tail bone on longer rides and look into different foot pegs as well but definitely 10/10 would recommend a Vulcan 900 as a perfect beginner bike and a nice bike for a seasoned rider.

I totally agree with you about the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic. As a multiple Harley and Indian owner, I'm amazed at how perfectly put together the Classic 900 is. As I get older, I've been wanting to get to a less cumbersome, simpler, and cool bike. You are right also about the size. Just today in the parking lot as I was turning in to park a SUV blasted out of their stall and almost hit me, I froze up, squeezed both levers, ya don't do that lol. still didn't drop it but man gravity pulled her down so quick. The bike was maybe two or three inches from hitting the crashbars when I caught it. for a split second I thought just hit the kill switch and ease her to the deck, but the marine in me said, "drop your fuckin rifle marine, I dare you." I'm going to buy my friends' 2016 vulcan 900. First time riding at 43 yrs old.

I'll be on a Vulcan in the next few months. I'm not a newbie to riding, but what I've rode in my life has been limited. I rode a Ninja for about 2 years while also driving a 150cc scooter. In two years, I put over 25K miles on the two bikes commuting to Los Angeles from San Diego. Im looking for a cruiser that is a bit more welcoming to someone who hasn't rode consistently in over 10 years. In all my research, the Vulcan may be the answer. Im sure I get right back into it after a few miles on the bike.

2003 Harley Fatboy 1450cc on Sean's other video 0-60 is 6.02 sec vs 2017 Vulcan 900 classic 0-60 5.95 on this video. The Vulcan 900 classic is very underrated.

Great video brotha. I always thought of Matthew 6.3 as if you help someone out you should do it without wanting or needing glory for it. Many people do charity work and want/need everyone to know they did it or also some people help you when you are down and really need help but seem to throw it in your face any possible chance they get. The beauty of it is that it can mean so many different things to everyone.

Man, I watch a lot of ur vids. Good business practices and your prices are good. I would buy a bike from you but I live in Cali so I couldn’t imagine what that shipping price would be. If I’m ever in your area though I’m definitely stopping by with the hopes of purchasing a bike.

Give him a call, he may work with you on the price to make it work. If not, a one way plane ticket isn't too expensive. 🤙🏻

I picked up a 09 sportster 1200 custom for my first bike. Only had 7200 miles on it when I bought it. I love that bike

Very begining of this video, I thought it was talking about my old bike. It was a Yamaha vstar 650 classic. Perfect beginner bike.

I rode with a lot of people and was always playing catch up and right after the basic rider course that military installations require I felt I out grew the bike

@@WillieD3521 I agree it's a smaller bike, and not going to keep up with the big bikes. That's why I said it's a good beginner bike.

@@jimwilson774 My beginner bike was a Honda CB650 (for 500 miles) then in 2007, I bought a new 2006 Vulcan Classic 900. Still have it -- don't see any other bike I'd rather own.

Bought an 08 vulcan 900 last fall for $2500 with only 8200 miles on it. Awesome bike for the money!

Have yet to meet or even see someone on one of these. Honda and Yamaha cruisers but not Kawasaki and I'm usually out riding every weekend.

I ride around a lot also. I see them sometimes at bike meets. They sound incredible with pipes.
@pauls57453 жыл бұрын
hmm. maybe because they blend in pretty well, not too flashy or obnoxious pipes or now that I think about it, maybe it's ppl don't consider these when looking for that type of cruiser

Tip - Buy a cheap 250/300 off fb marketplace as your first bike and absolutely beat it to the ground. Learn to to kneedrag, corner, even learn to pop some wheelies on it. (I say pop wheelies bc you will end up wheeling your 600-1000 at some point and rather dump a $2000 250 than a $10,000 1000 Ive found starting on a 250 really makes going to a 600-1000 a super easy.

I ride a Vulcan 900 Custom, with all the accessories. It’s my first bike and I enjoy riding it never had a problem with the side...however I do find it hard to find some accessories parts being a metric bike but they are still out there.

Bought my first bike in April 2020, it was a 2012 Vulcan 900 classic. As a bigger guy, I can vouch it has been great. I felt like a circus bear on the MSF bikes so I was bit worried about a bike. This bike is so much fun, but I won't like I still want a bigger bike next year.

In Australia we are limited to 660cc for a learner and provisional licence (you have to hold these for a few years). I had trouble picking "newer" cruiser bikes for my first bike. Options in Australia is Vstar 250/650, Vulcan 650s, Street 500 or Honda Rebel 500. I ended up going street 500 as I found a killer deal on a 2019 with very few k's. But I wish I tried a Vulcan 650s.

I also got a rebel as my first bike at 27 Lol. With a few mods it can be a good bike. But now It's time to go bigger. A 1200 sporty should be fine for me.

Thanks Sean. Just got my license yesterday and took my first 15 minute ride around my quiet neighborhood on a ‘96 Yamaha Virago 750. I thought the bike was too big but after the MSF class I did fare. You test drove one of these a while back which made me more excited. Glad to have this bike. Thanks my brother
