It is a beautiful house, however I m not fond of spiral stairs, not good when you get older…now if this house would be on one floor and I would have the money I would buy it…
@languedocpropertyfinders219512 күн бұрын
In fact, the norm here for older houses is 3 floors. It's even quite hard to find them with only 2. People who are trying to avoid stairs have to look at more modern properties, of which there are some lovely ones.

Is there a yard? I went to the link and didn’t see anything. In the video you mentioned that the extra storage room opens up to the back and there was sunlight coming through, but I saw no mention of the garden.
@languedocpropertyfinders2195Ай бұрын
No, just the sunny terrace. The door from the storage room at the back of the garage leads out to the street. Very useful.

Given the radiators, one wonders if the fireplaces work, and if they are gas or wood or coal?
@languedocpropertyfinders219526 күн бұрын
The fireplaces are not functioning but could probably be put back into service fairly easily

When they took down the wall in the kitchen area, where did they get the tile from? To cover this space where the wall was?
@languedocpropertyfinders2195Ай бұрын
They didn't. There's a small gap of concrete but it's not too noticeable
@reallynotpc15 күн бұрын
I wonder what the width of the garage door is. Cars are much wider than when this was built. Masses of room once you're in, but how big a car can you squeeze through the door? The interior of the house is a delight!
@languedocpropertyfinders219512 күн бұрын
The garage doors opening is 2.5m wide so should be OK for most vehicles 👍🏻

What a lovely property. What is the percentage for down payment when purchasing in France and is financing available?
@languedocpropertyfinders2195Ай бұрын
Down payment is usually 5-10% as a deposit. For a French mortgage you're looking at a loan to value ratio of around 50-70% depending on your situation. You can run a simulation with a company of Brokers I use in Paris who are experts in sourcing French mortgages for non-French buyers - www.francehomefinance.com/french_mortgages/calculator/

There’s no fireplace any more? What happened to it?
@languedocpropertyfinders2195Ай бұрын
The chimneys were blocked up many years ago by the previous owner. Normally they can be reactivated without too much trouble
@keithss67Ай бұрын
@ ok, so they are still there. 🤷♂️
@languedocpropertyfinders2195Ай бұрын
The chimneys are still there I believe. You would need to probably run a new, modern chimney tube up through to the roof but then it should be OK to use. Of course I'm not an expert and this hasn't been surveyed but normally this is what is needed in these types of houses.

getting furniture in there must be a real challenge. The lack of closets spaces, and the garment racks in place? An armoire would be a lot more stylish and classy, but I guess getting one in there is too expensive.

In fact most of the old armoires come apart so it's not as much of a challenge as you might think 😉

Expensive and wires obstructing views. And no land, garden. Ive6been looking at italy and france and italy is much less expensive and architecturally more impressive properties.
@languedocpropertyfinders219523 күн бұрын
I guess you also have to take into account where in each country. There are areas of France that will be cheaper than areas in Italy and vice versa. This house is correctly priced for this region of France 🙂
@vodkarocket117 күн бұрын
I live in Southern California and there are wires like this still here and there and no one minds because the ELECTRICITY you enjoy from them makes them more than worth it. Hardly worth dismissing a great house, wires like those may stand out at first glance but they QUICKLY fade into the background.
@janesmith63465 күн бұрын
Every country has its own market & much depends on location. For a holiday home, gardens can be a negative as it’s an extra maintenance issue. Re Italy vs France, wherever you decide, take into account taxes payable on purchase ( I believe these can be quite high in Italy) agents commissions & legal costs which are often structured differently to your home country.
