Hi fabulous work done on sewing machine. Just saw offering of selling. Will you be selling any more in the future? I know very time consuming and patience on your part. Please let me know. Thank you 😊
@SewingMachineRehabАй бұрын
Hello! Yes, I will have more machines for sale next year. I work on them as I can, most of my time is spent servicing customer machines. But I have some 301's, 221's and a 222 that will hopefully be listed in 2025. I take requests as well, you can contact me through my website if you are looking for something in particular.

Do you repair the featherweight cases?
@SewingMachineRehab2 ай бұрын
Hi! Sometimes I do, it depends on how much time I have and what the case needs. If it needs to be stripped down to the wood, I typically don’t. If it just needs a new handle, some gentle cleaning and a touch up of shoe polish then I will do that. This is mostly because I just don’t have the time to dedicate to the cases at this point but I would love to fully restore a case one day, I have a lot of ideas about lining the inside with a beautiful printed liner and etc. If I ever do I will make sure to document it and share it!

@@SewingMachineRehab Thank you so much for answering my question. Perhaps you could suggest a product to glue down some of the tattered edges. I was thinking of using something like Mod Pog or Golden brand Mat Medium used in decopauge.

just curious cause I seem to have tension issues occasionally, but are you supposed to see that much red top thread on the bottom side? Btw I have a 1936 ❤
@SewingMachineRehab5 ай бұрын
Hi! I have found that sometimes when sewing on just two layers and using a darker thread like I did on the top….you still see a tiny bit of the thread on the bottom….no matter what you do. I just finished up this machine and it probably could have used a little tighter upper tension. Since it doesn’t have a numbered dial you don’t have a baseline to start from or a general point that you can turn it to that you know is the “sweet spot”. I will sew with her again before she ships out and make sure the tension is set for quilting perfectly. One of the best tests for checking your tension though is pulling both layers of fabric apart along the seam and visually checking how tight it is. This one needs a tiny bit of tweaking I think which is why I used the darker thread and two colors. Thankfully, as you know, it’s easy to adjust! How nice you have a 1936 also, you don’t see many of them! 😊
@Cathy_MidwestHome_Hens5 ай бұрын
@@SewingMachineRehab Yea I had a 1940 first, and when I went to look at the ‘36, I didn’t realize immediately that the tension dial didn’t have numbers that year. I had to quickly search the models to see that the machine wasn’t broken 🤪 I got her from a lady locally and paid $395!!! I want one more featherweight because I now have 3 granddaughters and want to give them their own FW and teach them to sew on them
@SewingMachineRehab5 ай бұрын
@@Cathy_MidwestHome_Hens I get it, when I first started on my vintage machine journey and came across a “no numbers” tension…I was a little confused! Now I know, just set it perfectly and don’t touch it! How sweet, I hope you make many happy memories of sewing with your granddaughters!
