Its actually insane how much better he is at this game: actually look at what you're gonna draw, thinking about how you only have so much time to get stronger, so going for fights lowers your hp, but makes you stronger in the long run... thinking about scaling, realizing you need dmg, etc.. Ending turns with energy leftover/doing the math wrong is no big deal, it happens to the best of us lmao.

Food for thought swapping boss relic is pretty ideal most runs as watcher relic is essentially an extra energy once per combat when most boss relics give you extra energy for then entire combat right off the bat, also pyrimid can be insane on the watcher when you get to start with it and build your deck around it.

The thing about question marks versus fights is that it depends. There is no consensus. You need to get stronger in order to win the harder fights. The best way to get stronger is by taking fights. Cards, gold, and potions are necessary in order to win and you can't increase your rare card chance going to events. However, there are some events that are really good that you might want to prioritize. Apparitions, Library, Uprgrade all Strikes and Defends, the Necronomicon event, and Mind Bloom are some events I will look for. However if I took a Pandora's Box, or if I have a Feed or Lesson Learned I may not want events in order to get more out of fights. In Act 1, the possible events in my opinion tend to be poopy. Golden Idol is good, but often times I'm sacrificing HP for one thing when I could take a hallways fight and sacrifice HP for cards, gold, and potions.

Hey NL, is there a reason why you never take deva form? This run specifically you could have bought it from a shop, then made it innate with the tornado in a bottle. You also started each combat with 3 miracles, so you basically could guarantee playing it turn 1, which then basically guarantees unlimited card play per turn as the fight progresses. I'm not too familiar with this game outside of your videos, so someone let me know if I'm missing something... Thank you, and love the series!

Infinite energy is deceptively invaluable, especially if it isn’t immediate. Turn 1 draw is so important because you have to go through it every single battle and if you draw well enough you can end the combat before the enemy can begin their attack. Bottling deva form is -1 opening draw for something and make something like eruption+ into wheel kick that could do a flat 60~ damage and kill an enemy much less likely. If the deck was super defensive and he had a good card to output all that energy into scaling like a fasting or summon weapon it would be fairly viable then, but without that kind of build it just ends up being a pretty cumbersome card.

yo NL, as you go up the ascendancy levels consider making eruption your no.1 upgrade priority. why? bad case scenario: you draw eruption and no calm enablers -you can erupt and then have 2 energy remaining to attack/block/exit stance Average scenario: you draw eruption and a calm enabler (let's use meditate in this example which is one of the most expensive calm enablers) -you use meditate then erupt and you have 2 energy available to attack/block/exit stance after already getting 8 block and doing 9 damage Best case scenario: you draw eruption while you already have calm enabled -you erupt and have 4 energy to attack/block/exit stance you open up a lot of energy by making eruption cheaper and essentially get 4 energy every 2 or 3 turns if played properly. a kind suggestion. It really opens up the watcher's flexibility that no other upgrade can deliver (apart from apotheosis)

NL this is a very small nitpick but it may save you a lot of time. When you are counting your damage you only need to count the damage up. Then if it equals or is greater than the enemy's health you are fine to go into Wrath and kill. It seems like you are counting the damage up and then also subtracting it from the enemy's HP, which I'm sure is much harder As I'm typing this is realize how insignificant it is. But figured I'd mention it and maybe save you some math headache. Cheers!
