ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE content creators for Dragon’s Dogma?? Ok, to each his/her own, they say. For me, there’s Nihil, and there’s everyone else. Well, actually, there is one other content creator for this game who has tutorials on his channel. Jon Gonzales. He’s also exceptionally skilled at this game. His battle/fight tutorials are pretty much always flawless no hit wins, but he never says anything or puts any on screen captions, which means he never gives any tips, hints, or advice, or breaks down any of the enemy weaknesses or explains anything. They’re all just watch and learn videos. Nihil here really goes into detail and gives thorough explanations of whatever the video is about. Honestly, who else even comes close? The Rift is another good channel I forgot about. The narrator does mostly background and lore videos, and it’s kind hard to understand him with his accent.

Pommel Strike/ Bash is one of the best Warrior skills, low damage/ range, but extremely fast and high stagger.

One the funniest moments that I had with Warrior was trying the Stamina Hammer and then stun locking enemies like Ogres at relatively low level(15-20). You can just keep tapping their knee caps until the pawns do enough damage to kill them. Little cheesy, little slow, but fun non the less. Doesn't work so great on Hard Mode against the larger foes, but still pretty effective at staggering bandits and goblins and the like.

Why I hate Warriors is because their damage is not scaled to make up for their weaknesses, mobility, and downtime, but rather scaled to deal as much damage as the other vocations. How you'd think with Arc or Deliverance, you'd one shot everything, but you only deal like half their health. That one skull splitter deals as much damage as a fully charged Arc of, or a Maelstrom hits so much more enemies and with so much more stagger. Plus ranged and flying enemies.

Flying enemies are so fun to knock down with light jump attack tho. You actually have a good range, enough to hit dragons wings when flying, knocking the thing down and killing it with AoD after. This is for these moments you play Warrior

The way skill damage works is that they have a fixed base damage that is added with a value that scales with your strength or magic. A lot of warrior skills actually scales poorly with their strength, but compensate by having high base damage. This is why skills like indomitable lash or arc of deliverance can be very strong early game, but falls off later compared to skills from other vocations, since they don't scale as well with more powerful weapons.

My first time playing the game years ago, I picked Fighter then Warrior. It was only after beating the game I branched out to other classes, but it did teach me lots about the combat.

I think it all comes down to how much proficient a player is on enemy behaviors (not weaknesses).Other vocations are much more forgiving if you don't know your enemies that well IMO but with Warrior i think you really need to know the ins and outs of enemy patterns in order to get the most out of it.

Exodus is indeed a must. I Iike non-charge attacks on Warrior for quick knockdown and juggles. I also got a ring that upgraded one of the charged skills to rank 3 (one of the Arc ofs) and with the right party you can charge it with minimal interruption.

This is true. Just don't spam. Watch the animation, hit the input right after your character starts to bring the weapon back to the neutral stance. Once you've learned the timing you won't ever want to go back to escape slash.

So, I commented on your pole and honestly, I am glad I am wrong about warrior. My main complaint was the three skills, but I decided to challenge myself and make myself play warrior. I kept escape slash at base level, and got to work learning. Now I understand the power of stagger/knockdown. So my loadout is: Devils nail, Iraklis and Boltbringer. I enjoy warrior a lot when i'm in a party... But when solo, I just can't... Spamming Exodus and never getting the opportunity to use big powerful attacks. there's also the powerful attacks, the long charge times on solo. unless you down an enemy, in a 1v1 then you can get an attack off. I agree. Warrior was nerfed from the very beginning.

No offense but if I hadn't somewhat enjoyed my run of warrior through the main game (until defeating grigori), this video would not have convinced me^^ My advice would be to play warrior on normal mode with a balanced party of 3 pawns and go for all sorts of knockdowns and staggers. That is what the vocation is built to do but, for the most part, denied in hard mode. Hitting an arc of deliverance and knocking a large enemy over just feels the most satisfying

Best way to enjoy Warrior is by installing a mod called Greatsword MAX, it overhauls the entire moveset of the Warrior and makes it as strong as Fighter

I actually really enjoyed Warrior when I first played it. Even now it's still one of my favorite classes. About the only thing I honestly don't like about the class is that it can't solo Metal Golems simply cause some of the talismans are out of reach. Other than that I am a great fan of (mostly) just nose booping big foes to death with the jump light attack to knockdown combos. The most unfun class I find is actually Ranger simply because it seems weak at its biggest gimmick (shoot things at very long range with a big bow). Perfect charge shots are kinda fun but it's not nearly as fun as playing something like Assassin and just deleting half a pack with Lyncean Sight long before they even enter aggro range. (Why is Assassin literally better at sniping than the class whose entire gimmick is sniping?)

Assassin's sniper is better because it's piercing damage, while Ranger's is blunt damage. Piercing goes deeper, reaching the core weak spot. The same for holy focused bolt. Piercing. But, yeah Assassin is the better sniper. I guess by definition Assassin should be. When I think of actual Ranger, I think of a hunter. When I think of actual Assassin, I think of murder.

I got the hang of warrior, the objective is to knock down, it gets strong if you do that. But my issue continues, jump light attack gets too boring after a few hours. That is way I prefer fighter or MK when I want to have some challenge, I disregard cannon and play MK as a melee, the reason for that is perfect block, so much more fun than jump light attack, and if you misses you get f up since I don’t use good armor or augments for defence. Warrior just does work for me 😭

Nice video once again. I like the content as always but I'm still not a fan of warrior and will probably never play it. The thing about Dogma that sold me on the franchise was the sorcerer vocation. While many games make magic and 🏹 OP, Dogma made sorcery epic. You can summon meteors that somehow land through indoor structures. You can conjure tornadoes, and create a miasma that seems to damage just about anything in the game. Likewise, other vocations feel unique in their play styles as well. Warrior is so pedestrian it doesn't even seem to fit among the other vocations. I suppose developers made it the vocation where you had to use tomes and curatives to overcome the deficiencies of the vocation. However to me warrior feels incomplete; almost as if it was tossed in at the last moment to give players a tank vocation that can take damage and do little else. Much respect to those who master warrior but I'd rather listen to someone scratching a chalkboard for hours than play that vocation. 😆😆😆

I recommend adding the mod that allows you to use any weapon. This will allow you to use the greatsword together with something else, like a bow or staff. Helps alot. Calls hook something on nexus mods. First place on the list.

If you’re still not satisfied with warrior, there is a mod that overhauls their skills. It makes War Cry knock down and stagger flying enemies so you can finally solo dragons easily, it makes all of your offensive skills hit harder and do more damage, and it changes your primary attacks. It’s a little bit too OP though, especially if you make everyone in your party a warrior.

This is just an idea but take it or leave it LoL. Maybe try your favorite vocations with only 3 skills? Put that well Warrior only has 3 skill slots junk to rest. Regardless of the vocation played. Most are probably only using 2 to 3 skills as it is.

As MK i like to have 9 skills and play around with rooms. Why would you only use 2-3 skills when you can use 6-9 and have the variety? Unless you want to challenge yourself and like you said use your fav one but with 3 skills max. I think thats the worst part of warrior for myself being forced to only 3 skills and no movement option (same as fighter). I get it should be hard but it should be hard AND FUN. But im the kind of guy that uses 1h, two 1h weapons, dagger, bow,2h weapon, spells, 1h weapon with a spell, sneaking, using Vampire Lord form, just conjuring/reanimating mobs and reverse pickpocketing poisons in my character in skyrim so yea. If i use one style for some time i like to change sometimes fluid (like using 1h after 1h and spell) sometimes rapid (like going 2h warrior mode after having fun with spells). I like to do almost the same here with too much full skill set? next few opponents are shield perfect block only or ill use the staff only. pity you can't use sword and staff as that could open some more options.

Man, I first played through Dragons Dogma earlier this year and was completely blown away, but as a Souls fan I kept telling myself that Elden Ring will be better. Admittedly, Elden Ring has much more content, a better and larger world, and a better story and lore imo. But, having watched content like this again, Dragons Dogma has hands down better combat than any other game I’ve played, including Sekiro. It’s just so satisfying countering the jumping attack of a Chimera, or landing a High Maelstrom on a group of enemies and tearing them apart. The people who think Elden Ring has great magic need to try DD.

As a Warrior i run Arc of Obliteration, Pommel Bash and Exodus Slash, and i find all of the 3 good enough for the manority or enemies. But i struggle to find the BEST 3 skills to put in my main Pawn, Killua, since she's a Warrior.on PS4 D; I"ve putted Obliteration, Whirlrwind Slash and Corona Slash. The warriors only weakness is magic defence. I'm gonna play mystic Knight or archer to balance that out, but if you augment with clout for strength, the jumping attack bonus is insane, paired with possibly the knock down augment and magic defence, the warrior is my favorite most effective class. I wish they had more attack slots cause it can get boring, BUT it is my most effective class. Can kill dragons in like less than 2min at lvl 70 with Dragon Forged Dragons flight, can clear chamber of Fate solo, and do most of BBI solo. The mages are the only thing that mess me up cause of magic defence being so poor. You end up doing like 3k damage + periapts if you wanna cheese I can destroy and stun lock the UR Dragon and kill it in a few min.

The struggle with Warrior for me was balanced by the charm. Although I dislike it, I've by far put more time into trying to make it fit. There's just something about the weight behind the hits of the 2h weapon style that I love. It just lacks depth. Here's the thing though... I have this feeling that if there were 6 or more skills for Warrior, that very few people would play anything else, and that's why they nerfed it. I mean, think about it... You might have played another class, but would you have ever tried some of the more "unique" classes?

Started off as fighter. Really liked the idea of warrior and being a brute and playing like guts style from beserk. But got turned off because i was low level and weak and didnt do much damage. I was atill figuring out the game also as its my first time. Went back go fighter and figured out how combat works and started lovinf fighter but then i thought if i understand how the combat works then surley i should give warrior a go again. And sure enough its amazing. I feel like such a bad arse. On paper warrior sucks comapred to the others and it does have the disadvantage. But boy does it make up for it with pure satisfaction. Despite being slow. When your hits land. Its like a nuke going off. You are a force to be reckoned with

Anyone else bothered by how Warrior holds the weapons through the lantern?

If there is a shoulder bash akin to greatsword's shoulder bash in MH games, warrior would be 1000 times better.
