My mom had a recipe box, has did all her previous ancestors. When see did not need it any more I asked to keep it. Had no plans until year's later, it sets on my kitchen shelf, draped with so small dollies and a bundle of purple flowers. Inside the front are 5 recipes cards of our favorite foods. It is my memorial to her. ❤❤❤❤❤
@lindabradford9591Ай бұрын
Awe, how sweet of you to keep it in memory of your mom. Most kids don't want what us parents save for them. It's kind of sad, but I'm glad you kept it!

You give so much of yourself, it hurts my heart that anyone would give you grief because “EVERY” project is not for “THEM”.. Hoping to see a box made for keeping greeting cards with monthly dividers to keep them in one place for holidays and birthdays. I appreciate you and your time & talent that you give to all of us.

I was thinking the same thing. Like Sherry always says...for any season, for any reason no matter the gender. If recipes are not your thing just don't put the dividers in it. I image putting a handle or knob on top & feet at the bottom (like a mini keepsake box. This can also be used to put small gifts like socks, lip balm, hand sanitizer, mini hand cream, candy boxes 📦, jewelry, gift card, etc... Actually the top & bottom can both be used for small gift boxes. If you need it bigger just tweak the size. So many possibilities!

What I saw when I found this was a cute box to store file cards for “ recipe” cards to make cards or other note cards for little projects such as you do. Just a quick way to flip through the cards when I need a quick reference for inspiration. Doesn’t take up much room and prettier to look at than the spine of a binder. IMHO. TFS

I saved that video to a few of my save-for-later lists. I appreciate the heads up. It would make a great gift to fill with photos. Not every photo printed needs to go into an album. A little box with some recents or favorites or some subject theme important to you or the recipient. I actually was thinking that a great and valuable gift for a child, teen, young adult. Photos are validating, particularly when printed and curated. For littles - photos of the folks and places in their lives near and far. Label photos with easy to read lettering: reading skills & letter recognition ✅ Could select a photo to represent each letter of alphabet or numbers. Possibilities endless. Use decorative paper that matches room decor or photo themes. And no stress re: handling photos as these days easy to get reprints. TFS!

People are not passing down recipes, as you surmised, which is a shame. People of my children's age (20's to 30's) will keep recipes stored on their phones, or in "the cloud". I’m so sorry people don’t seem to like recipe boxes these days! After she passed away I had a great time going through my grandmother’s recipes. It was interesting to see all the variations for “Sour Cream Raisin Pie” she had saved and I don’t think she ever made it! I recently found a recipe box among my mom’s things with four generations of family recipes! I put it away for the next generation. Even if they only look through it and don’t add to it or make any of the recipes.

Sherry you are so sweet to explain, even though you don’t owe anyone an explanation. I don’t use recipe boxes because Pinterest is basically my recipe box. If I need to print out a recipe, it’s on 8.5x11 paper and it goes into a file folder. So maybe other people are having similar experiences.

You videos are so amazing. As a content creator I completely understand what you are going through. I always find it so amazing how some can be soooo opinionated (in a negative way) about something they are viewing for free! Many of them who have no idea what it takes to come up with the idea, shoot the footage, edit, produce, and then share for free. Then you go to their channel, and nothing. They are not posting a thing. Having no idea what it truly takes to make these constant videos happen for them. I said all that to say …… you are an amazing person! You are amazingly talented. You have to do what’s best for YOUR channel. Those of us who honestly support you will continue to do so. Doesn’t matter if you make another recipe box or not!
