You give so much of yourself, it hurts my heart that anyone would give you grief because “EVERY” project is not for “THEM”.. Hoping to see a box made for keeping greeting cards with monthly dividers to keep them in one place for holidays and birthdays. I appreciate you and your time & talent that you give to all of us.

My mom had a recipe box, has did all her previous ancestors. When see did not need it any more I asked to keep it. Had no plans until year's later, it sets on my kitchen shelf, draped with so small dollies and a bundle of purple flowers. Inside the front are 5 recipes cards of our favorite foods. It is my memorial to her. ❤❤❤❤❤

Awe, how sweet of you to keep it in memory of your mom. Most kids don't want what us parents save for them. It's kind of sad, but I'm glad you kept it!

People are not passing down recipes, as you surmised, which is a shame. People of my children's age (20's to 30's) will keep recipes stored on their phones, or in "the cloud". Those are the few who know how to actually cook from ingredients. Until I came across your channel, I never realized that I could make my own boxes. Thank you!

I was thinking the same thing. Like Sherry always says...for any season, for any reason no matter the gender. If recipes are not your thing just don't put the dividers in it. I image putting a handle or knob on top & feet at the bottom (like a mini keepsake box. This can also be used to put small gifts like socks, lip balm, hand sanitizer, mini hand cream, candy boxes 📦, jewelry, gift card, etc... Actually the top & bottom can both be used for small gift boxes. If you need it bigger just tweak the size. So many possibilities!

I hardly ever do paper crafts but I watch (or listen to) many of your videos in their entirety. A little of it is following the advice I would give - to anyone but especially a maker or artist - to expose oneself often to craft and art of various kinds, not only the same one already practices and if possible to try a bit of them too. However, my most compelling reason is I feel like I've had a little visit with a friend by the end of the video. And there are things I'm not going to make again, in the same manner or for the same intent or simply not at all, either. That's just part of being a maker.

Sherry you are so sweet to explain, even though you don’t owe anyone an explanation. I don’t use recipe boxes because Pinterest is basically my recipe box. If I need to print out a recipe, it’s on 8.5x11 paper and it goes into a file folder. So maybe other people are having similar experiences.

@tulatrippin2 сағат бұрын
Mrs Sharee, (spelling?) It was very clear to me that you said RECIPE boxes don't do well. I'm in my early 30s and I prefer to keep a recipe binder. Alot of people may have hard copy books or a collection online, but for the most part recipe cards are "old fashioned" Nothing wrong with that!! I watch your videos when I get off work (after 6 pst), but I will be more mindful to let them play when you first upload even if i don't actually watch it right then. I get alot of enjoyment and relaxation out of your videos without being a papercrafter myself. Thanks 😊

It took me a long time to find a recipe box in the stores. So thrilled when I actually found one that I couldn’t be fussy with what it looked like. When I eventually perfect a recipe I write it down on a large index card. Saving recipes from the internet does not allow you to customize it to your taste. Guess I’m old school.😉
@kcinca54108 сағат бұрын
I still collect lots and lots of recipes BUT I don't really keep a physical collection. I save them all on my computer on the hard drive and some I move over to Google Drive and I share the folder with my daughters so they can find any recipe that they want. Maybe a lot of other people are saving their recipes in this manner now. I do print out the ones I use as I don't have a screen in my kitchen but that's all and once I've made a mess of the page, I recycle it.

I would love a playlist of your recipe box videos, if you have a chance to put that together. I have missed a lot of crafter’s videos the last few months (long/busy work days, too tired after work). It seemed odd to me at first that you don’t get good viewership on recipe-holder videos because another crafter I watch has the opposite situation. But, I guess that’s just the nature of who follows each of you. Anyway… I have more videos to watch in my rare free evening tonight. :-) Happy crafting!
