Very interesting book! I like that the author puts in his own experiences and some humor into the book. That could possibly help the reader by relating to them so they would remember the info better. The pictorial glossary is an awesome touch! Thanks for the review. I may look into getting this book. I hope you and your family are doing better.

Ok, so that book gives more in depth info on foraging, harvesting and storage. To drill in on foraging in specific areas or regions, are there any reviews on the best books to look up? For instance, I live in Siskiyou County CA on the east end of the Klamath Mountains not too far from Oregon. So technically I could forage northern CA and southern Oregon. I'm sure the coastal regions will be somewhat different too.

Have you ever done a food forest of wild edibles?
@georgegates5262 жыл бұрын
I've always tried to identify plants, but there are so many subtle things that I miss. I would have to find someone with plant skills. Just about the only thing I can spot to eat, are dandelions.

I've been looking for a book like this for a while now, but i want to find one more useful for an European context... Any tips?
@TrilliumWildEdibles6 жыл бұрын
Not really but I can say that several of the plants covered in this book like wild carrot for example are native to Europe so you might get some use out of it. However the Peterson field guides cover more plants, a large portion of which are native to Europe and are invasive in America, so those are some things I can say. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I don't live there and have never been to Europe. Thanks for asking though.

Josh , can you recommend a book that's more for the northeast ? I'm in the western new york area . free snow for everybody come and get it.
@jerryguerra3486 жыл бұрын
doug send us some snow to the Southwest. We need the moisture. Make it a white Christmas please.
@TrilliumWildEdibles6 жыл бұрын
Most of the books I have covered in previous videos will do you rather well. This book for instance, along with his book "Nature's Garden" will cover a lot of plants you have in your area. About 85% of the book is applicable to where you live for example. As far as a book that's more specific to your area I can't say, but these books will do you really well. Hope this helps a bit doug, and no I don't want any snow thank you though! Lol!
