Nice video cut - “Hey Daddy!” That’s when he checks on her tree climbing and they return to conversation. That’s so great!

I loved watching him interact with his kids. The children are the definition of "free range" 😀

Oh yeah...that's Thayer's kid (munching weeds, hanging from tree). Reminds me of myself. Big fan, his books, I'm in the Northeast. I wish I could find more wild wild things to add to my home perennial "garden". Thanks for the vid!

Thanks Hilda, this was great. Sam came to speak at UW - Stevens Point about a decade ago when I was a student there. Sam has always been a huge inspiration to me, ever since I read The Forager's Harvest. I studied botany there and ended up founding the student chapter of the Society of Ethnobiology, for which foraging and ethnobotany was my primary interest. Sam is one of the greatest living conservationists because he understands that in order for us to protect and understand life around us, we have to interact and make it part of our daily lives. Foraging is the purest expression of that philosophy. Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks for sharing! Switching it up is good for us, I think! (I lean paleo/carnivore myself, tbh.)
