What a fabulous wreath. I too love to make mine at the holidays out of things all around my yard. I have amazing red berry bushes and plenty of magnolia. But I think any kind of foraged material works. I then hang on my mailbox. It lasts a long time. Thanks for sharing tips and your wreath is just lovely.

It looks beautiful, I was itching to pluck that one hanging leaf off though :). I made the wreath frame for mine with a dried very long climbing rose stem which I dried out around a garden pot, it worked really well. This video inspires me to get even more creative.
@flowergrade3 жыл бұрын
I’d never thought of using a rose stem. That’s clever as you’d be pruning them now anyway and they will lock together with the thorns! Thank you for sharing.

I love the integrative approach to adding the foliage. However, not having an artistic bone in my body I am a bit worried mine will just look like a dogs dinner! I am off to see the alternative starting with a green structure and adding just to see the difference. Was a really good start for me, thank you for taking the time to make the video.
@flowergrade3 жыл бұрын
Do try this way! We find that wreaths do always look really naturalistic and balanced using this technique as you can add and see as you go how well the shape is forming. In fact it suits the less confident as you don’t know how it will go until you have finished!

I went foraging last night, and was approached and verbally abused by a man with his dog walking past, hes in his 30s telling me to not cut anything, it's belongs to everyone and it kills the plants, as he knows he a horticultural person, he was very agressive towards me and intimidating with me, he wouldnt walk in, he stood there staring at me just feet away, i left without anything at that behaviour, it was in a public foodt path area growing...he literally scared me his behaviour was very off towards me, be careful out there, my husband said I should rang police there and then.

where did you get the moss, please?
@flowergrade3 жыл бұрын
Hello, moss mustn’t be taken from the natural environment unless it’s on your own land so we order wholesale from suppliers usually in Scotland or Ireland. You can get small amounts from your local florist. Or we can send you a foraging kit if you are in the UK!

How early can I gather moss for the base please?
@flowergrade2 жыл бұрын
Hi Linda, we do not recommend collecting moss from the wild as it is a protected plant. However if you rake it from your lawn, you can keep it in bags for a very long time. We always save our moss from the previous year. It might need a soalking but perfectly fine to use as a base for your wreath x
@lindaconn57812 жыл бұрын
Thank you. How do you store itbefore using it?
@flowergrade2 жыл бұрын
We store it the way it is in bags quite packed - it dries over time but that’s not an issue as we always dunk it in water before using - watch our latest video, there is a bit with the moss.

At 430 what is the plants name
@flowergrade3 жыл бұрын
It’s Ivy, but such a rambling plant in a shady area that it grows a little differently. Not long tendrils but clumps which is nice to use in wreaths.

Hi Linda, sorry to hear about the inconvenience with the sound in our video. At this time I do not have a solution for you. However we are looking at adding subtitles to this video so the sound can be muted. Thank you for the feedbacks, they are much appreciated ♥️
