I've heard the taste described as close to Porcini. I've about to fry up some Fennel as it happens. It's one know but it's still good to have a reference, see if there's any details I may have forgotten

Hi Karl, great video again. Would just pan fry these with a little butter and salt n pepper to get the best out of the mushroom?
@SelfSufficientHub4 жыл бұрын
Yep exactly that. I consider them a great ‘breakfast mushroom’. What I mean by that is any meal where the shroom is just on the plate as it’s own thing rather than in a sauce etc. They just hold up to the frying pan so well keeping their lovely texture.

Found some Trooping Funnel in Bourne Woods, Lincs. Next to a path so I left them for others to see. But I was brought up with a conservative mushroom foraging habit so I was inherently wary of things not field mushrooms, fairy ring champingons, shaggy ink cap or giant puffball. My dad also liked the russet mushroom I think. I did have a peculiar experience with common ink cap when a friend and I enjoyed some then drank beer: a couple of hours of aggressive quarrelling followed. It was later we realised the cause.

Found some 👍 Mushroom for breakfast tomorrow. Only gonna try a small amount as some people don't agree with them. 🍄

Great job sir

Does the fools funnel also have the 'nipple' feature, or is that a unique identifier of the trooping funnel?

Lovely mushrooms, great description. Surprised you like them dehydrated 😅

So I’ve found some and wanted to air fry them (like cooking in oven) and wondered if you know how long to cook them for/ at what temperature?
@SelfSufficientHub4 жыл бұрын
I would treat them the same as regular shop bought mushroom. High heat for five minutes or so. Hope you enjoy

> What do they smell like when freshly picked and is it a unique smell for identification?
@SelfSufficientHub5 жыл бұрын
Hi James. Mildly mushroomy is how I’d describe the smell. The main id is the size look and location
