A: You need to calm down, stop getting angry at what you don't understand and think about what he means by the word prophet. B: Jeremiah Wright has said some crazy shit, but I have yet to hear him preach hatred against white people. I have heard him preach anger against a group of people who have consistently disrespected the rights of him, his family, his friends and his people. Calling that racist hatred takes some serious self-centered blinders.

I agree. What did he say that wasnt accurate? I guess the easiest way to circumvent dealing with the actual issues is to call him a BS-er and a "pseudo intellectual". This man is about as fair as they come in his analysis. You have to remember, these people that shun black intellectuals that approach the issue of race have no ideas of their own. Dyson should be an ambassador for race relationsin America. White folks in particular should love Dyson.

We should? Why? Because you said so? Better put your gray matter back where it should be. All these people are why we are in so much trouble today. Both blacks and whites who have the audacity to think they have the means to affect changes of the heart have no idea their ways are not God's way, God deals with the heart, not the political heart, which God detests.

thats the problem institutional racism already exist to such an extent that the ones exposed to it are unaware of its effect. this is why racism in this form would not be felt by those who were not naturalized within the u.s. but do not assume that those from other countries do not experience racism they just have more fight in them

@djam91 Well you have to understand the history of black americans. we still have a lot we need to overcome as a people. Malcolm X once said we can't go out and help others when we have our own issues (paraphrase). He was right. Black Americans have their own problems they need to deal with. We can't take color out of anything. We are still disenfranchised, we are still being viewed negatively cause of our skin color. White people do rally around their own people. You didn't see the Tea Party?
@ThirdandPine14 жыл бұрын
In essence what he is saying is affirmative action is the watch word. White people are alway responsible for their statements and actions if they are odious. Black people on the other hand get a pass, or black folk can't be expected to take responsibility for anything they say or do that is hurtful to others.

I think he is just supporting the fact that most people reguardless of race speak differently in private than in the public eye, but both Obama's answer and Dr. Dyson's real talk explanation are both the same ideas. I believe it is the equivalent to the republican parties small town views.
@Ryooken Жыл бұрын
That's not what he was saying. He was saying that Obama had to speak for all black people when it wasn't necessary. The minister said what he did. The fact is that he told the truth. Wright didn't say anything crazy, it was made to look that way by the media to scare white people into not voting for Obama.

@djam91 Also I'd like to add that black people never put color into anything. White people did that first. We were introduced to the idea of race by white people. Thats not the conception of poor slaves. That's always been an issue to caucasion people. But thats another conversation for another time. We should be able to get away with a lot as far as race goes. White people did. For centuries in fact. We still have a hard time finding justice within this justice system.

It's not unusual to have a Pastor with extreme beliefs, yet not believe the same things as the Pastor. I had a Pastor who preached things that went against my morals. But I didn't do whatever the guy wanted. My Pastor didn't create the universe, nor was he a Prophet; I don't believe that our creator talked to my Pastor anymore than he talked to me.
