I'm on the fence here because the definition of broke is not clear-cut. A survey in America by creditloan.com said that on average, people who had less than $900 USD in their bank account said they were broke. Your definition of broke maybe "I only have $10 in my pocket, and that's it", but then people dying from hunger in poor countries could just say "Nah fam, you're actually rich and privileged". For reference, Chuck donated at least 9 billion to charities and kept only around 2 million. That's 99.9777777778% of his money, gone. If I suddenly had to live on 0.0222222222222% of my current income, I'd say I'm broke. What's my point? Not sure tbh lol. Just presenting some facts that may change your perspective.

Maybe because the work was hard and after the Pinkerton Thugs killed striking workers Andrew Carnegie was an asshole. How about making the lives of your workers better as they are working for you not at the end of your life. High taxes exist to encourage higher wages through lower corporate revenue and income and better equipment through capital investments, not to horde it for yourself and stockholders.

@Erik Cnating Think of it this way... "the man is a great athlete, so he can be a great president"... What we did here was transfer his success from one field to another. Hence the term -->equivocation.

This takes extreme dedication and selflessness. Imagine working your life amassing a fortune to decide that your money is worth more to others. The majority of us, no matter how rich, will never think of such feats. It is easy for us commemorate someone’s positive actions, but very hard to replicate. All of us will most likely never donate this amount even if we reach this level of wealth. That is because humans are by nature, selfish. Ask yourself this, in chance that you become this wealthy, will you contribute to such feats? Probably not.

@Kartik Raj the people who do all the work should be the ones compensated. “Your company” is not just you. People work for you and should be compensated for it. Also it shouldn’t be YOUR company in the first place, it should belong to all the workers.

Look up Ratan Tata from India. He would be the 2nd richest person in the world after Bezos, but he gives away 98.5 percent of his income to charity each year. He holds the maximum share in the largest Conglomerate and company in all of India (TATA Sons and Enterprises, which also by the way saved companies like Ford)
