95% top marginal tax rate, wealth tax, create a new federal department of worker co-ops. any foreign entity wanting to do business in the country must pay taxes on the revenue and submit to review to curtail asset transfer. and while the country is fighting against tax dodging should be sure not to contribute to the global problem by outlawing internal banking secrecy. no opaque shell companies, outlaw secret bank accounts.

Still, lets not forget that paying taxes is the essence of philanthropy that keeps the social fabric in a society alive. No billionaire can take care of none-shiny mid west schools, veterans, medical aid and millions and millions of roads. That being said, it‘s certainly a good hearted man that choose to look beyond his own clan, family and friends. ♥️
@SuperHenderson13
@SuperHenderson13 4 жыл бұрын
@@dinoscheidt Couldnt disagree more. I'd much rather this guy give his money to legitimate charities that go to helping people instead of him paying taxes where a lot of it goes to paying useless government workers, supporting the military-industrial complex, and maybe a small amount going to actually helping people.
@dinoscheidt
@dinoscheidt 4 жыл бұрын
@@SuperHenderson13 true - the American system is maybe not the best example.... European here 👋. Though if there are discrepancies in the government system (which was set up by the people of that nation to serve these people) trying to change it is probably better than hoping for parallel private charity / billionaire aid to fix that stuff... but we’re sliding quickly into an area here where there is no right or wrong answer. 🤷🏻‍♂️

He's obviously not broke, but i doubt he's making money, he put aside enough money to live comfortably is what I imagine, which is beyond his right, he gave away billions... I think the headline of this article was the point but they should have said this too. You can't say a man is soo savvy and then imply he has left himself destitute. I'm on the fence here because the definition of broke is not clear-cut. A survey in America by creditloan.com said that on average, people who had less than $900 USD in their bank account said they were broke. Your definition of broke maybe "I only have $10 in my pocket, and that's it", but then people dying from hunger in poor countries could just say "Nah fam, you're actually rich and privileged". For reference, Chuck donated at least 9 billion to charities and kept only around 2 million. That's 99.9777777778% of his money, gone. If I suddenly had to live on 0.0222222222222% of my current income, I'd say I'm broke. What's my point? Not sure tbh lol. Just presenting some facts that may change your perspective.

Andrew Carnegie who said “he wouldn’t pay his workers higher wages because they would drink it away.” Makes you wonder why those workers would drink it away. Maybe because the work was hard and after the Pinkerton Thugs killed striking workers Andrew Carnegie was an asshole. How about making the lives of your workers better as they are working for you not at the end of your life. High taxes exist to encourage higher wages through lower corporate revenue and income and better equipment through capital investments, not to horde it for yourself and stockholders.

@@pentrubarbati the thing is we all make choices in our lives so for some of us living something for our kids is what we want to do and for some of us don't want to 🤷🏾‍♂️. It's mostly about giving our kids and future generations a leg up because being poor isn't fun, and i know we keep telling eachother that if someone works hard they will succeed but seriously there are billions of people who have spent their entire lives working day in and day out and they still have nothing to their name. Most of the people who say that living your kids anything is wrong are people who grew up living a comfortable life, people who have never had to go hungry or have enough money to go to hospital or watch your mom work herself like a slave so just you could have some food. Money is not Evil like most people think, money is a tool and for me I'll want to leave my kids the necessary tools to make their life's a little bit easier 😌

This takes extreme dedication and selflessness. Imagine working your life amassing a fortune to decide that your money is worth more to others. The majority of us, no matter how rich, will never think of such feats. It is easy for us commemorate someone’s positive actions, but very hard to replicate. All of us will most likely never donate this amount even if we reach this level of wealth. That is because humans are by nature, selfish. Ask yourself this, in chance that you become this wealthy, will you contribute to such feats? Probably not.
