The fact that you created a safe, knowledgeable, and respectful space for a Black female billionaire to express her challenges and acumen is really top-notch professionalism and skill. You both ate this interview, and I could tell Ms. Johnson really respected your conversation and interviewing skills here. Great representation of TWO powerful and skilled women here. Healing from such a tumultuous event or series of events is pivotal. So is leaning into God to find your true self again. I was so impressed and inspired from hearing of her 3rd chapter. I absolutely loved her content contributions to BET!! I was an avid subscriber to team Summit. I learned so much about various topics that were affecting my age group in the 90s and early 2000s. I noticed an ongoing trend with recommendations for therapy, after you’ve been abused, whether it’s in a relationship or in a work environment. I am also proud Bohemian woman, who draws strength from my ancestors and the Haitian revolution. The Haitian revolution told me to fight back against intimidation in the source of fear. In 2024, fighting back is remaining strong and understanding that there are outside forces trying to break me down, for the sole purpose of control. if you keep your faith first and head of all situations, you can avoid mental damage that requires therapy. I know everyone can’t take my approach. this is what makes me a leader, because I’m able to maintain with my own devices. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I'm confused. She said her "co-founder"? But when I hear Bob Johnson, he has told the story as if he had founded the company for the last 30 years. What's really going on here? She now calls it a "toxic relationship." Interesting dynamics here, for sure. Great interview, by the way.

Listen to her interview with the DC public library about her book, read the book, or even Bob’s Wikipedia. She is a cofounder and it is not disputed. BET was founded in 1980-a time when not many black women were not respected in business (and still aren’t) and she also endured so much in her relationship with Bob (none of which he denies…) Let’s please give her the respect she deserves.
