What a fantastic interview; he truly is humble! This interview has caused me to reconsider the kind of advice and guidance I will give my son (who is quite smart and started investing in the stock market at 10...) ...clearly his mom has had a great influence on him!

Mr. Peebles is the most personable humble human being to have attained the success that he has. He's been an idol of mine as an aspiring black real estate developer since before attending Georgetown Univ graduate real est development program in 2010. Fast forward to only a few years ago, I reached out to him via social media about a development opportunity that I was pursuing. His son, Don Jr and I had a couple of calls with the property owner. The property turned out to be overpriced, but that experience speaks volumes about what he's stating in this interview about helping those that have not had a seat at the table in such a high barrier-to-enter market like real estate development.

Great interview. I would like to hear more about Don Peebles’ mother, whom he mentioned was in real estate and connected him to the relationships on Capitol Hill that he said changed his life. Although a lot of focus was placed on his work ethic inherited from his father, it seems it was his mother with the business acumen and eye for opportunities that gave Mr. Peebles his start.

Thank you for this video. A couple of years ago I saw him on the West Coast. I couldn’t believe it was him because I know he lives on the East Coast. He is driving a Porsche on PCH in Malibu California and then I go on Instagram and it was him. He pulled over and he took a picture of himself on PCH and he looks so familiar and ended up being Dan Peebles and I wish I could’ve pulled over and introduce myself. Well, thank you for this video. This is your subscriber watching over here on the big island of Hawaii, but I am from Los Angeles.

very interesting that he mentions that he expected things to get easier where realistically they got more difficult as he progressed. im there now. 10yrs in my industry and shaking the right hands and there’s ppl who would prefer to lessen my influence than help me continue the upward momentum. strange conundrum for sure but that’s where planning takes place.

The best way to get into large scale real estate is doing contracts for them. Our landscapers cost $15k a year for maybe 10 hours of work a month, including plowing the driveways during winter. Someone who has multiple contracts could easily save up for a rental property and get some good loans for a large property if they could get a dozen contracts. But for some reason most of them blow their money like crackheads and can’t even keep their trucks running. A decent businessman could make a lot of investment money just not being a screwup.
