My grandmother had gas stove, hot water heater and heat her entire life. She was 82 when she died, no breathing issues. She was in Miami and always wanted gas so she could cook during hurricanes. Heat was never an issue but I imagine it's a major issue for northern states. Hunting camps have gas and so do hospitals. There is zero race issues with gas. I just want to know where all this electricity is going to come from when all the electric vehicles they're forcing on us hit the grid.

Several things I had issues with this woman’s testimony first of all, she starts out by suggesting that she represents the black and brown community however, shouldn’t everyone regardless of color be included and the other question is, I don’t believe the government should be involved or regulate individual household’s. Everybody has the ability to choose the way they heat their homes. Or how they should cook their food as far as a certain group of individuals getting sick over another group is ridiculous and the funny part is she never even mentioned the thousands of homeless people that don’t even have an opportunity to even have a home to heat or to eat in. Safety regs on gas stoves already exists. If your stove is properly fitted and working properly, it poses no threat to human health and safety. However, if your stove is broken or manufactured improperly, it could emit dangerous emissions and the manufacturer can be held liable. That's why we have those regulations already in place.

I personally prefer a gas stove over an electric stove. When our electricity goes out, we have no heat, no way to cook, no way to warm water for baths. Why you ask? If door dash Uber eats and microwaves were nonexistent these people would starve.. this is a pure case of government overreach, and as a construction worker who has worked on remodels on restaurants using exsiting restaurant spaces gas lines have to be moved and you have to add new ones to accommodate different restaurants, one size doesn't fit all any new permits for new lines won't be given, so that they can compleatly faze out gas. As a common sense environmentalist myself I agree with exploring all options of renewable energy but not when we have a failing energy grid that's over a hundred years old and the power plants will still run on fossil fuels. Solor panels are expensive and at this point only last about 10 years then you have to deal with the toxic waste created by to obsolete out of worn out panels they don't last indefinitely. And what about the wind turbines the blades have to be changed out and they are made out of fiber glass and other toxic materials they also don't last indefinitely what these people are not discussing is where all this toxic material goes after its life is exceaded, but yet they claim there inviromentalists..

Why if our senators, house reps and prez are so concerned about the people's health concerning gas? Why is it that cigerettes and cigars, vaporing and dip still being sold? Start with those demons first. Ban tabacco on all levels, ban vaping and now save lives. Im an ex-smoker and drinker but what I choose to do is my business. Actually what a person chooses to do is not my concern. When you tell me what appliance I have to cook on next you'll be telling me what foods I can cook. When do the people regain their rights to choose for theirselves. Do not preach at me about the dangers of cooking with gas as long as drunk drivers are still drinking and smokers are still dying from cancer. Stay out of our homes and choices of life. After all its my body, my choice, RIGHT??

Try finding a newer or remodeled moderate (on the higher end of moderate), moderate, to low income home, condo or apartment, these days that is not pre-wired and pre-furnished with an electric stove/water heater. Houses no longer have gas appliances unless they are high end custom homes; but, gas stoves aren't banned. They are just not even an option (barring expensive re-fitting of the home and, IDK, possibly having to pay to have gas pipes layed in new developments so gas can be accessed) except in older residences and high end new housing.
