it's embarrassing that we haven't already created and filled the obviously necessary positions of armed security officers at schools. qualified applicants should have the best security training available ( I believe they should be plain clothes) as well as training regarding dealing with children in a classroom/ school setting. they should give the security officers communications equipment allowing them to call on officers from nearby schools in time of emergency. if these sorely needed men and women aren't paid top dollar for providing this crucial service we suck as a nation.

For the 2007 school year I had the privilege of working as an armed security officer along side the highschool Resource Officer. I was paid my salary directly from the Highschool's funding. If a county school can do this on their own to add security to the school system it can happen all over the country, it really needs to be examined. There are so many low or even no information voters in blue states. It’s not just armed security. They need a security system in defy school. With monitors in the office but also a room that has monitors in it with a person who monitors them. Now that can get very boring . So if you had two security guards that split the day in half. Inside - outside! This way if you have a guard watching the monitors and let’s say the other guard is walking the yard of the school. If he sees something he can immediately radio the guard out side . If that would have been the case here. As soon as they exited the vehicle it was obvious they were armed. That’s automatically grounds to shoot someone. No one has a reason to be on school properly with a firearm . If that school would have had bullet proof doors on any door in that school that allows entry and exit , the shooter would have been SOL. Here’s why! As soon as the person surveilling the monitors inside the school saw they had a gun which in this case and if I am not mistaken every other school shooting also, radio the guard outside, ( only these two guards have access on this channel on their radio) hit the alarm notifying teachers, call 911. All of that can be done in less then 15 seconds! Remember the shooter has no idea they are being surveilled if set up correctly! So if by chance the guard isn’t right there at first where the shooter is, the guard inside can tell him. North side door by the … east side gym door etc. shooter has no idea. Mean time cops are pulling in! Bullet proof doors, shooter has been unsuccessful shooting locks. This is a no brainer! People need to ask themselves why ? It’s been 25 years since Columbine! There’s schools in NJ that have these bullet proof doors. Company that makes them, makes them so you can’t even tell that they are bullet proof! So I am not giving any politician a break! This should have been completed in every school 5 years if nit sooner after Columbine. We have never even seen a single solitary genuine combined effort by politicians except for Cruz but my opinion he’s not doing enough either. Where are his Republican counter parts backing him. How many 50 year olds are mass shooting at school? 30-year-olds? 25 year olds? It’s obvious you haven’t been following any of this whatsoever. This is kids killing kids. Just because they’re barely an adult in order to buy a gun to come back and retaliate for what happened to them in that school doesn’t mean that it’s senseless adults picking schools just because they’re vulnerable. You haven’t read a single manifesto by any of the shooters have you? let’s stick to this shooting… This child was treated like an animal in the Christian school he was forced to go to. He was bullied because he was different. I used to be a suicide counselor for teens. The number one reason for teen suicide, is the other kids tell them to kill themselves. I don’t know how many kids I lost because other kids told them they should kill themselves. I had so many young girls cutting themselves up because other kids called them ugly and told them to go kill themselves. This is because there’s no supervision in schools and it’s a lord of the flies method of turning children into monsters, so they go and join the military or the police force in order to hurt people. You clearly think kids are stupid. You don’t think they’ve seen the social media videos of police gunning people in the back for no reason & choking the life out of people for talking back? Kids have seen the viral videos of police brutalizing students in the classrooms schools all over the nation already. Kids are terrified of police because they are vicious savage monsters that have earned that reputation. You also don’t have the first clue about child brain development, and the human amygdala. Emotionally tormenting children causes them to become sociopaths and psychopaths, and their amygdala fails to develop because of emotional trauma during puberty. That’s physical brain damage that American adults are doing to their children just by sending them to school to be savaged by other kids while teachers stand by and just watch it happen. So you think sending dangerous animals that these children are deathly afraid of to roam around in the school with these children and abuse them every day is the answer. That’s going to stop the emotional trauma so these children don’t turn into psychopaths and then grow up and buy a gun and come back and retaliate on the school that wrecked their life? Not the sharpest tool in the shed, I take it.
