Depends, regulations also harm people. If businesses are regulated into oblivion, then that means no jobs, no jobs means no food or supplies, no supplies or food means crime goes up, crime goes & businesses don’t bother with the economy/local economy. Look at how that has hurt Portland with businesses pulling out for crime increases, which was the result of regulation on police department budgets. It’s one thing to regulate for safety but it’s another thing to create a mod style stranglehold on big & small businesses. Just starting a business out here In California is a NIGHTMARE, had a friend who opened up a vape shop and he said it cost him over $25k in regulations before the damn sign went up. Also don’t forget that BUSINESSES lobby for MORE regulations to STOP smaller businesses from thriving or affording to pay for said regulations. I worked in pest control and a TON of companies lobby for strick regulations, it’s used as a deterrent toward future competition.
