I think they know which one is most reliable and mass implemented. It's not DOUBLE the capacity of the grid. if you calculate how many kWhs are equivalent to a barrel of oil, in terms of how much WORK is done, then just in CA, we would need to put out 13x the amount of electricity as the current max capacity to replace those barrels of oil consumed per day. Obviously, they wouldn't be replaced completely, gas vehicles will still exist and electric will take decades to take over, but even at HALF, that's over 6x the amount of power, and remember, electric vehicles are all charged at the same time.. over night. when there's no sun. Because people work in the day, they have to charge their vehicles at night. Not only can we not produce that much power, but even if we could the transmission lines would F*CKING MELT and the transformer substations would explode if they tried to even double the amount of power going through them. We would have to rebuild the entire grid, add TENS OF THOUSANDS of new substations, and generate on-demand power at several times the amount we currently can at full capacity just to have half of the vehicles replaced with EVs. Every house would have to be re-wired , every electric line would have to be rewired. Not only do we not have the raw materials to do this in even 50 years, we don't have the electrical engineers to do it, nor are we going to, as vocational training for things like electrician and electrical engineer are NOT being promoted in schools. In fact, all efforts are being made to discourage these fields. these people are so out of their minds, so bat-shit crazy, that just attempting this could destroy our electrical infrastructure beyond repair and leave us in the stone age. if you just force people to buy electric cars, and the grid can't handle it, people don't go "oh, ill just not use my electric car for a few years until the grid is good to go". No, they will plug them in because they have to go to work so that they can survive. This will mean the grid will constantly hit it's over-capacity limit, and this will quickly lead to the supply chain completely failing, and then people will start dying. and then it'll get bad. This green agenda is literally an apocalyptic situation, and I cannot believe that the people behind it are actually SO STUPID as to not be aware of the consequences. They are either so incredibly brainwashed into this climate alarmist cult that they are incapable of acknowledging any information that makes their ideas look bad, or they ARE aware of it, and are doing it anyway, which would mean that they WANT that to happen. If it's the first option, then all of these people need to be thrown out of office immediately, and possibly put into some kind of psych ward, but if it's the second option, they all need to be arrested immediately and possibly charged with treason, crimes against humanity, and attempted genocide. Thats the thing though. Wind and Solar need tons of space to keep up with the need which means you will see windmills on fields everywhere, then you need more powerlines and transformers. She is actually kidding when she says nuclear, because there is almost no way that a ton of new nuclear plants get approved designed and built in 10 years time at this pace there are too many regulations, which obviously are needed for safety Hydroelectric is in part seasonal and regional, and to make a big dam also takes a ton of time. Using alot of small dams in natural rivers will cause alot of other environmental problems, you need fish stairs and whatnot. And for solar you will practically loose fields which were used for farming, the ground below will most likely desertificate and seal, the only reasonable option is to build massive solar farms in deserts. The cheapest method for a solar plant is a steam turbine one anyways for a big project, idk why countries always build solar panel ones, its stupid, parabolic sheet metal pointed at the sun, steel pipe above and let the water boil then put the steam through a turbine, no expensive panels needed, no thick copper wires with plastic insulation.
