In this video I take a first look at the budget FORCEATT 2 Person Dome Tent with a couple of nights camping trip. I provide an overview of the tent, showing its erection, and provide my final thoughts about it. I will follow this video up after further use, particularly once tested in wet and windy conditions.
The thoughts and actions outlined in the video are personal to me and everyone will need to view things from their own perspective.
My Camping Equipment Reviews can be seen here:
• Camping Gear
The tent details can be found here, which is the company I purchased the tent from:
Deal: Forceatt Camping Tent 2 and 4 Person Tent, Waterproof & Windproof. Lightweight Backpacking Tent, Easy Setup, Suitable for Outdoor and Hiking Traveling www.amazon.co....

They are from an OEX Expedition Tarp that I have had a while, actually useful bit of kit and I use poles occasionally for supporting tent doors on different tents as seen, but separate poles can be bought from most outdoor shops or online. The OEX tarp can be seen here: www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15985183/oex-expedition-tarp-15985183

Thanks so much Erin, glad you’re enjoying it! Good question re favourite tent and not an easy one to answer as I like different tents for different trips at different times of year and weather….I did say it was difficult 😆 However if I could only have one it would be the MSR Elixir2 as it provides the most flexibility for use and flysheet set up, with great headroom and liveable space throughout along with very good back up support. A close second would be the Naturehike Cloud Up2 which packs very small, is lighter and extremely quick at erecting….I’d have to say that I’m still not 100% between the two and if moving day by day it could well be the Cloud Up2…as said, difficult decision!

The poles are just some I had with an OEX tarp, but you can buy any on eBay and they would do..these are about 150cm high. The groundsheet is just a very cheap tarpaulin 4x4ft which I use for all sorts

Great review. I see it's a 4 season tent, and what I saw is that on 4 season tents the mesh is replaced by a fabric inner much less breathable. Can you confirme if it is has a fabric inner or a mesh please ? You can see what i mean in that video from 9min30s : kzbin.info/www/bejne/inTJZ36mYtpphbc

Hi Yvan, the tent I’ve reviewed is different to the ones on the video you’ve posted…this design seems to be used by different companies so may seem the same tent, even have the same name, but have different features and construction! This version of the inner has solid on lower half, mesh on upper, with solid on roof which you can see in my video when putting it up. It’s a bit confusing but the one I bought is linked in the video information section. Personally I would say it is a 3 season tent but then I use 3 season tents throughout winter 😂 For next winter I am going to buy a solid walled inner tent as it does cut down the wind better, although this tent cuts lower level wind really well. I’ve a follow up video coming out soon which had 16 hours of continuous heavy rain with thunder and lightning…it was some of the heaviest rain over a continuous period I’ve experienced and although there were a couple of drops of rain got in this was due to a poorly sealed tie point that is a very easy fix with liquid sealant. Despite this I do rate it highly as a budget priced tent, and if my main tent I’d be happy sorting the minor issue. Hope that helps, regards Andrew

@@thecampingbiker791 Hey, thanks a lot for that comment. Yes I know the tents are different, but i wanted to be sure that the inner material used is breathable cause I camp usually during hotter seasons while traveling on a bike, so i don't really want it to be windproof ;). It really seems like a good tent for the price.

Mate what an absolute ripper of a review and just 65 Quid, crikey I'd be ashamed to buy it thinking that I'm robbing them. Talk about bang for your buck, what a little beauty. Mate a bloody absolute fair dinkum review effort unfortunately I'm in my home in SE Asia and not able to be in Pommiland where I'd definitely buy you a pint or 2, (bugger the coffee mate, I know you like a drop of the amber fluid) but there'll be a future time no worries. This tent would be a great push biking tent too it certainly ticks all the boxes. I like the fact that its Polyester and not Nylon, Poly dries a lot quicker. For all ridge lines, guys on my tents, Hammock Hutchie, and general camping guys I use 6 mm cotton sash cord (dyed green) as it doesn't stretch when wet. Nothing worse than having to retention sagging guys in the middle of the night in the pouring rain on leech covered ground. I cook using an alcohol (metho) stove as it doubles as a first aid kit. We don't have those round gas canisters like you blokes use. A few drops of metho on a leech and they quickly lose their appetite, also rub metho on mossie and sand fly bites. I like your gear reviews mate, you put a lot of effort into them, very informative. .👌👌👌💪💪

@thecampingbiker791

Hi Miguel, I have indeed tested it in the rain, for 16 hours on one camping trip! It performed really well and I would recommend it particularly for its value for the money and flexibility. Mine had a slight issue with a couple of drops of water coming through a flysheet door toggle not being sealed enough…fixed easily with a small drop of sealant. Here’s a video of that 16 hour rain test: FORCEATT 2 Person Dome Tent | 16 Hour Rain Test kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5_Xqnxrocp3ipY

@thecampingbiker791
@thecampingbiker791 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alberto, it is excellent value for money with good features. Although I’ve not yet tested it in the rain it should be okay with good waterproofness rating on fly and tent floor. On most cheap tents the poles, pegs, and guy lines are not great quality, but not with this and I’d see no need to change anything! Having storage pockets in each corner is a good and almost unheard of for a cheap tent it has that loft storage which is brilliant. I really like the two doors and the fact they are different on each side. In Spain it will be hot and I think this could be perfect for hot dry nights as there would be no need for putting flysheet on allowing for good air circulation but with solid walls over half way up and the roof also being solid although relatively small. I have several tents and this is the best value for money among them….on the first use of the tent I would recommend it highly, regards Andrew
