I keep the small blade literally razor sharp as it serves as a makeshift scalpel for my first aid kit. It never gets used for anything else. Left hand side was easier than right, but i did get them out without breaking them. I used a thin piece of metal from a wiperblade to slide into the outside of the clip first then the small screw driver followed. the clip lugs need to be pressed from the outside of the handle inward toward the center. @thecampingbiker791

@@DaveDayve that’s a fair point! Probably due to me having the previous 500x with RR suspension over 4 years it’s just become normality.. sometime over next few weeks I’ll do a video outlining those points, but in short it makes the road riding much more precise, absorbing irregularities in the road surfaces better, allows for much improved handling, particularly when load carrying, along with less bottoming out…. It makes a big difference off road with slight increase in ground clearance and like the road use it doesn’t bottom out as much with better handling on rougher ground, although still having limitations with a 19” front wheel and fundamentally being a bike designed predominantly for road use. The standard NX suspension is improved on the 500X and for general road riding i think most would find it good enough and any suspension upgrades would only be worth it if keeping longer term.. hope that gives a brief update until I get a video done 👍🏻

@@MrKing1961 I like the smaller more compact nature of a good aftermarket exhaust but have now changed to the standard Honda one until Scorpion make one specifically available for the NX… some of us like to personalise our gear 😊

I’ve be having a bit of a think and from what I can work out there are two sensors,one before the CAT,to see what’s coming out of the engine,and one after to see if the CAT is working,it’s the second one that comes up with the fault,so it’s not an engine emission problem as such it’s to do with the CAT. The way the car lads get around the same problem is to put a spacer on that second sensor which takes it out of the flow. I wonder if this would work for our problem? Also I dot know if all Lambda sensors are the same size/thread but you can get car sensor spacers off eBay for about £4.

Thanks for the info, bike is riding fine but even with stock exhaust light still coming on…right pain in the backside to be honest but like the idea of the spacer!
@stuarthaysom763

@ it should work,I have been reading that having a freer exhaust sends bigger exhaust pulses through that the sensor cannot read so just throws the light,it doesn’t know if something is wrong just that it cannot read properly to say all is right,spacing the sensor back out of the flow should sort the problem as it does with a car.

I just purchased mine about a month ago. To my surprise, the US model does not have the secondary O2 sensor(behind the cat) that the European model has. This might not be an issue across the all the models. But then again, I can’t confirm that because I still have the stock exhaust.

Sounds like you suspect that it's the aftermarket exhaust that's causing the problem. If the light comes on again can't you just pop the original exhaust back on and see if it forces the light to turn back off? Even if that's not what you want to have long term it might confirm your suspicions.

@@adaptableadventurerider thanks for watching, I’ve been doing a few more upgrades, particularly with my experience from the previous CB500X and will be doing a video sometime in next few weeks showing these.. can highly recommend the downsizing and for me it’s now been about 7 years of mid size bikes after years of GSA/RTs 👍🏻

@ thanks n yep I’ll miss my 1150gsa like crazy its more a space thing thats got me selling it with the house move :) only 60 quid a year on classic insurance, ive had lighter stuff like the 300 rally in the past so its cool to go back to a lighter bike + a nerve injury is an issue so time for a change been highly impressed with the nx500 i got for dad.
