Yep! All that John said ... all good stuff (as usual)! I had this last season and didn't care for it very much. Thick, very. Heavy, yes. Stiff until it warms up, yep. And it had a few bad 'pinch-points' that were a deal-breaker. Because I trust Pete & Ash @ Mosko Moto (where I purchased this armor) I kept working with it. Them one day ... FINALLY! I kept adjusting the velcro fittings over and over and I final found the right fit. Now that it fits properly it's one of my favorite pieces of gear I've ever owned. Love it. If you have this and aren't in love yet, keep working with the fit, you'll get there.

Hey Tony. Nuthin but love for it here, but ya, you do have to do a little fiddling. Once it's fitted and warmed up it disappears on you.

The coolest part about John's videos is that he is modest, ie., "I crash a lot" :) I've been following for a while, it's hard to find time to get caught up with the videos, I am trying my best now (as a first responder, our call volume has increased and have a shortage of personnel). Good stuff sir, I am a short rider and its hard to find gear that fits me right @Mosko Moto has the only company that supports the concept of wearable body armor. I am a clumsy rider and so I need armor that stays close to my body affording me the best protection. Thank you John for your reviews, which are casual and just enjoyable (funny). Stay safe and ride on, when are you doing the MABDR?

Hey John, Another great review of the Forcefield body armor. I bought this same setup last year based on your recommendation and I’ve taken two good spills with it on and it protected me with no injuries. I’m quite sure if I didn’t have this on, I would’ve had a some kind of injury. It does take a little maneuvering for a few seconds to get it on, but you figure it out. I am very happy with it and I would never go riding without putting this on my elbows, forearms, chest, shoulders back and tailbone. The other important thing I found is to wear knee braces. I bought those nice Asterisk braces, and they came in quite handy when I fell and stuck my knee into some rocks, I just got up and walked away and was very thankful I had my knee braces on. Like you said in one of your other videos, when it comes to spending money on protective gear, all this money is well spent. Keep up the good work John!

I watched and appreciated all of your comments on this product. Now I wish I could find it! I can find what I think are the components (the chest protector, the shoulder pads, the elbow pads) but not the 'adventure' series which is basically those three things all sold as one unit. Mosko Moto sells two parts but not the whole thing. Question for you: did you buy the elbow pads separately and they come with the straps to connect to the harness? I contacted the head office for ForceField but they seemed clueless.

Yeah, I really like this armor, but because I live in the scorching hot desert I went with Alpinestars A-10 V2 full chest protector. It's incredibly vented and breathable. Only thing I don't like is that it doesn't come with elbow protection.

This looks great. The main issue I have with it is the rib cage is small coverage. I also wonder how far the tailbone piece goes down. If I fall more on my butt with my back bend, that could lift the tailbone piece, lessening the length of coverage to my tailbone/hips.
@JohnTYoung

Some ribs is better than no ribs, in my mind. The tail piece hangs fairly low... tucks in your pants.

How do you keep your beard from getting caught in the zipper? Just kidding...Big thanks for all the videos, great stuff! So my question is....on a long ride, when you go into a bar, restaurant etc in town, what do you do with your armour? On my street bike my leather jacket contains it all. On the dual sport I'm getting geared up with Mosko Moto stuff (basilisk, leatt elbow pads.). I hate the idea of lugging junk into an eating establishment and I'm always paranoid about theft since this stuff adds up....trying to pack light at the same time. Other than leaving on the armour under jersey, your thoughts from the road???? PS....swing by Helena MT and I'll put you up, by you a steak etc. Great content....
@JohnTYoung
@JohnTYoung Жыл бұрын
I just pile it up in a spare seat like I would a heavy armored jacket. It only takes a second to get on and off. And when putting it back on, just before you finish zipping up, be sure to look up. That way you keep the whiskers clear of the zipper. Thanks Bookem.

I've been able to use quite alot of your info to get some good quality gear. I'll take a good look at this armour rig and see if it'll work for me. I do have a couple of questions otherwise if you don't mind. Have you had enough time and mileage to get a handle on the GET ECU performance and how it works with the 911 bike? I remember you saying in comparison video that your bike "doesn't like them". Were you able to get that under control and are you currently using the GET or still using the Vortex? Also, Have you found the Scott's steering stabilizer to be a good investment in hindsight for the type of riding that you do or would you say it's more useful on highway and tarmac? If you had it to do over, would you make that purchase again? Does it reduce headshake on a fully loaded bike? After your experience with the Motoz Desert HT's, did you go back to the Rallz's? Your information and evolutions that you've taken the time to document are an inspiration to me and I'm sure alot of others. Thanks for all you do!
@JohnTYoung
@JohnTYoung Жыл бұрын
I have not used the GET, mostly the AIM, but I am planning on visiting TacoMoto to try to figure out why my bike doesn't like it. The Scot's steering stabilizer makes road riding SO MUCH more comfortable at speed that even tho 90% of my riding is off road I am still glad I have it. I did go back to the RallZs and have been super happy with them. I could almost make a whole video about your questions - keep them coming!
