Awhile ago Blizzard called adepts pushers in a class similar to zealots. I always wondered if they could be more viable lategame. So build adepts any time you would want to build zealots. Feel free to get creative like shading 2 adepts into a big bio ball to take tank or mine shots. For this it might be fun to switch your hotkey so when you would normally warp in zealots you get adepts instead

Definitely wanna see this as a challenge, for sure. But just gonna note the reason zealots are used lategame and adepts aren't is just efficiency: Zealots don't cost any gas, adpets cost 25 (same mineral cost between the two), and zealots lategame are great damage sponges for their low cost, they have 10 more total health+shields than adepts do, and they do more damage as well, the only downside early really is just the range/mobility, they get kited as melee units, but once you get charge this is more or less fixed. TL;DR: zealts cost less, have more health, and more damage, and once you get charge are pretty much unkite-able. Post-charge there's very little reason to include adepts in your main army (they're still great for harass with the shade mobility though)

You should only build units that don’t have an auto attack: disrupters, observers, warp prism, oracles, (I would also count sentries and templars because their damage output from the auto attack is so low (but not archons))

A couple suggestions for BGMWSS: 1. I just saw a PartinG game where he beat an opponent without building anything (other than gas) in his main. Not even one pylon in his main, everything was proxied in multiple proxies. Is there BGMWSS potential here? 2. Open BGMWSS up to other races. Come on Harstem, be adventurous, DO IT!

BGMWSS DoTA Edition: Avoid letting your opponent kill your units by denying them (kill them yourself) if they are going to die. The goal is to minimize opponent kills as much as possible, zero opponent kills for a perfect game.

stupid idea: force major supply blocks - hunt overlords, pylons, and depots with a hitsquad before finishing them off when they try to resupply

This can work sometimes if you catch them off guard. However smart players who build static base defense or position their base defense correctly, i.e. have queens, marines, hydralisk in the mineral lines or under overlords can make this tactic irreverent.

The Retro Challenge: Imagine you are a die-hard vanilla Starcraft/BW fan. You absolutely hate the new games. Gameplay, music, story...they all suck! Rules: Use only units/structures from SC1/BW. New abilities are allowed (otherwise zealots would probably be completely neutered). The only exception is if you need a new building for original units or upgrades (e.g. Twilight Council for ground upgrades, Dark Shrine for DTs). Available units: - Probes - Zealots - High Templar - Dark Templar - Archons - Observers - Carriers Probably not doable, but perhaps still fun to try out. For added challenge, limit unit/building selection to 12 at a time and limit control groups to 12 units/structures at a time.

In real world warfare, cutting your enemies supply is a Key first step. Your order or actions are usually: Defend. Reinforce. Attack (The enemies supply). Withdraw. Delay.

I'd love seeing forward defenses used more often. There are some locations on maps that are clear choke points. Build a small base your units can launch attacks from and retreat to around chokes. Might be easier with protoss in terms of outpost creations. Pylon+turret+battery. Warp in units as needed. Terran would be harder but also have more defensive structures. Toss a planetary down at a choke with turret+bunkers when appropriate. I wouldn't ever expect to hold them long term but it can cut off flanks and make it harder to sneak ground raid units. Outposts should trade efficiently even if you lose them.

There are major reasons people don't do this, while useful, defending these outposts and making sure they trade effectively requires map control, terrains planetary fortresses are effective defences usually cause scvs can repair, the battery cannon thing isn't very useful as most maps have at least 3 chokepoints into a 4-6 base late game scenario, and no defence can trade effectively if you lose map control and is very easy to crush cost effectively, while I agree with you on some maps in some cases it might be useful, there are very good reasons Pro's don't do it, but by all means dumpster the ladder with a couple well placed defensive positions, letting zerg crack against a tank wall is extremely satisfying

@@PropheticShadeZ It's been a long time since this video so I don't recall specifics but I think he was asking for low elo strategies. I do think any situation you could do this on you could likely just spend the money to kill them instead. It requires map control via early aggression. It would allow for efficient trading within that area but would require unit support against any real push. This strategy allows for more safe aggression once it is established but the cost would be so high it requires you to already have had a lead.

Idea: Gun Game - you can only produce two units at a time - once you kill an enemy unit/structure/base (whatever you feel sufficient), you "upgrade" your army with a better unit, but only 2 per tier. - if you want to force yourself to attack with probes before the first upgrade, you can, but don't have to. - ie: [ probes -> zealots (t1) -> stalkers (better t1) -> immortals (t2) -> disruptors (better t2/t3) ] + sentries (2nd t1) - if it is too hard, you can just use army comps, but you only get one fight/attack with each i.e. zealot + archon -> airtoss - you can apply this to whatever you want: bases, upgrades, etc. (you have to unlock stuff) - if you can't upgrade your army in less than 2 min, you have to gg because the other guy won already. Maybe make the timer dependent on the tier of the unit, so 2 min for tier 1, 4min for tier 2, and 6min for tier 3. Idk make it fun. - you can't undo your upgrades either. if you get rid of zealots for immortals, you can't build zealots again. However, you can keep zealots the whole game and just swap the second unit every time. - maybe make it harder by basically all inning with each army

Would it be possible that you tried the strategy you once did again but as terræn, where you made a Wall through the map and tried to starve your opponent and just trying to hold the Wall. Terræn just seems alot funner since they Can make mines, anti Air missiles, tanks, bunkers and Then medivacs with units/vikings/hellbats for the “police”. P.s. your jokes and commentary in that vid was just perfect, talikg about politics and news stations as such, so good. ❤️❤️

I'm not sure how low on the ladder you would have to go for this to work but you should play Zerg and rush neural to play as the opponent's race and win. Like neural the opponent's workers and just play with their buildings/units.

Build your third CC in the Main and float it over once it's finished. Only it's a Nexus and it doesn't really float all that well. You are now stuck with a macro Nexus in your Main.

Theoretically if you had unlimited APM wouldn't the deny-mining approach as Protoss work pretty well? because killing workers takes time which allows defense to come into play, whereas denying, particularly forcefields, affects many more workers in the same or less amount of time. Just need to be persistent and tactically avoid defense

Just make an effort to make use of it when it seems decent, players really don't appear to be used to reacting to this well. how about warping in buildings in the mineral mine of the enemy, whenever hw pulled workers: load prism with scary units and a probe ... and once he pulled it empty, activate the prism in the mineral line and use the probe to warp like 3 gateways or stuff in there to block mining

Challenge! “Beam me up!” Create proxy nexus around the map that allow you to recall your army to different parts of the map. Think of these as recall stations, as they cannot be used for mining! (They can be used for probe production) Use this mobility advantage to catch your opponent suddenly out of position. Make at least 3 proxy nexus near his base before the win. Additionally, you must have at least 1 proxy nexus for every 2 mining bases on your side of the map. Bonus points if you can somehow use battery overcharge offensively while in his base or at the front lines of his defense

Stats used mass statis in big tournament (i dont remeber which one, but it was important match). Mixing oracle harras with stasis and good army movements can be viable strat, as stasis don't make sound warning so it becomes hard to keep eye on them.
