Dorn deserves so much credit for that final game, not just for how he played, with the one key defensive play and one of the key hits that leads to an important run when Sorano hits his home run, but also for his pep talk to Vaughn. Vaughn REALLY needed that in that moment, or odds are that he gives up a grand slam. Dorn was free to take his punch once the game was over, but he showed real class when it mattered most!

He bragged about her aloud and she loved hearing that while the lawyer sat fuming.

I have a personal connection to that enjoyable classic since the sports story scenes were filmed at the now gone store, The Sports Chateau, in La Canada-Flintridge, California where I lived between 1984 and 1993, and I saw them filming those scenes for a few days while going to and from school.

Great reaction! “I don’t think this one’s quite got the distance” is my fav line I’ve def used it too much in real life…

Love your reactions. One of these days you gotta react to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr. are both great in it.

The owner is unhappy because she doesn’t want to be in Cleveland (I’m from Cleveland so I understand lol). She was offered a new stadium in Miami with tons of personal perks

Enjoyed this when it hit the VHS tape market, was not really enough of a fan of Sheen or Berenger back in the day to see it at the theater. Thought it was funny and enjoyed it. In terms of funny sports film, if you ladies have not seen it, may I suggest the Tom Selleck film from 1992 'Mr. Baseball'. Thought it was very good as both a sports film but a fish out of water film as well.

If you get to football season in this vein I recommend "Necessary Roughness" with Scott Bakula.

And coincidentally Dennis Haysbert ("Cerrano") is also in "Mr. Baseball"..

This movie is a lot of fun, and also, you're right. It's a good blend of an actual baseball movie and full-on comedy. My favorite quote is still Bob Uecker's "Just a bit outside." Bob was a catcher in the MLB(a little before my time 😂), then started announcing ball games for the Milwaukee Brewers. I just remember him as a bit of character. He even went on with Johnny Carson, Lol. Anyway, I don't remember much of the sequel, but it was funny, but it's hard to beat the first one. Fun reaction Lovely ladies 👍😎👍.

In real MLB, Cerrano would be out the moment he touched first base still holding the bat.😊

Best thing about the bunt at the end was that it was completely unselfish. Sure, a homer would’ve been cool, but Jake was cool with making the defense think he was going to swing for the fences, and instead took them all by surprise with a bunt. Awesome character arc for the once selfish Jake to do something for the good of the team and not just him.

It was her first acting gig and because of her being Italian she would use her hands when she talked. The director had to wrap her arms with string to stop her from waving her arms😂
