Any army recovers their damaged equipment, if it's possible. That's not a indication of anything. 6. All Soviet tanks can fire depleted uranium rounds, it's not a new thing. Nor is it the reason for the BVM modernization, which was introduced in 2017, btw.

The difference between Soviet and Western technology, designed for quick repairs. If the Leopard tank is damaged, it is taken to Poland for repair. The Russian tank is being repaired immediately on the front line and back into battle. There were cases when the tank was hit seven times, and the soldiers of the repair units quickly restored it. So the statistics on the damaged tanks of Russia do not know how many times they considered the tanks to be damaged, and how many times these tanks went into battle again after repairs.

Couple that with inconsistent Russian military spending on weapons before 2022, where the military buys small lots of new weapons that barely cover the cost of development and production while burdening the Russian armed forces with weapons that are logistically incompatible with other systems, and its amazing a Russian arms industry still even exists.

Some of the claims that are made are frivolous at best. The reality on the ground is, for the moment being, the front doesn't move a lot, and if it does, it is unfortunately in favour of the invader. And there are a lot of Russians that still can be trained to drive such tanks, "or else". And with an economy focussing on the war, lots more tanks can be made than during peacetime. What makes you say it's a bad design? The range is the same tradeoff for speed that the Americans have taken. The autoloader made sense at the time it was made, in the days before mass deployment of ATGMs, PGMs and kamikaze drones, and the primary threat to the tank was other tanks. Using an auto loader reduces the size, making it a smaller target. The gun is also fine, larger bore diameter than Western ones. Though since the T80 was introduced, NATO has further refined APFSDS rounds, which Russia hasn't to the same degree. It also has excellent frontal armour which again, is what matters when it comes to tank on tank engagements, which was the primary threat it was designed for...
