The Art of War can help us understand the determination of a people like Ukrainians fighting in defense of their homeland. Moral Cause and Unity: Sun Tzu emphasized the importance of aligning the people with a just cause: "When the people are in harmony with their leaders, they will share the same dangers and hardships, and the army will not falter in the face of adversity." The Ukrainians are united in defending their sovereignty and freedom, which creates a powerful moral cause that motivates resilience and sacrifice. Defending One's Home: Sun Tzu valued the strong will of those defending their own territory: "The skillful fighter puts himself into a position which makes defeat impossible, and does not miss the moment for defeating the enemy." Ukrainians have the advantage of defending familiar terrain and are deeply motivated to protect their land, families, and way of life. The Importance of Preparation and Adaptability: "Victory is reserved for those who are willing to adapt their strategy to the situation at hand." Ukrainians have shown creativity and determination in adapting to challenges, leveraging international support, and using their resources effectively against a stronger opponent. The Will to Fight: "The quality of decision is like the well-timed swoop of a falcon which enables it to strike and destroy its victim." Sun Tzu valued the will to act decisively and with determination. Ukraine's resolve and fighting spirit are key to their sustained resistance. In essence, Sun Tzu’s principles suggest that a united people defending a just cause, combined with strategic adaptability, create a formidable force-even against seemingly insurmountable odds.

They have VASTLY different doctrine, logistical limitations and design philosophy. Japan's armed forces are a "Self defence force" meaning they do not commit to expeditionary warfare like the UK does so the need for a larger fleet of vehicles doesn't exist for them. The infrastructure of Japan also has more limitations than the UK, they have more mountainous roads and narrower rail gauge meaning a lighter and smaller AFV is needed to traverse it. The British also (For now) use a 4 man design as having the operator(loader) helps as another set of eyes and hands for the tank to spot enemies and help with repairs and other work on the vehicle. Sadly the join creation of an MBT from GB and JP isnt feasible. But something they could co-create would be a light towed field gun or self propelled howitzer. The British were interested in buying the K9A2 from South Korea recently so they are not opposed to the purchase or cooperation with a nation from East Asia

Tanks have a problem because Ukraine uses them different then western doctrine. In the west we would attack with armor, air, and infantry. Ukraine does not have complete control of the skies. So they are not as effective as they could be.

I’ve seen videos of western tanks being taken out by one but even if they used 20 $300 drones, that’s still only $6,000 to take out a $20,000,000 tank. That’s still a 3,333% ROI.
@michaelcuellar403Ай бұрын
@ I think military’s should be investing more in drone tech and counter drone tech because it just doesn’t really make sense anymore to have a modern army. I imagine AI powered drone swarms sort of like the storm shadow missile will become a wonder weapon like the tank did in WW1.

INS Tushil is a multi-role stealth-guided missile frigate, commissioned into the Indian Navy on December 9, 2024. Built in Russia, it features gas turbine engines from Ukraine's Zorya Mashproekt, highlighting a unique collaboration amid geopolitical tensions. The frigate measures 125 meters and weighs 3,900 tons, armed with advanced weaponry including BrahMos missiles and anti-submarine capabilities. It represents a significant enhancement of India's naval strength, particularly in countering regional threats from China and Pakistan.

Good content thanks. The 40% of Kursk area lost is a myth that western media keep reporting. It is based on the maximum extent of Ukraine's advance, including recce patrols etc. Ukrainian forces have only lost a single village of the territory they gained control over in Kursk. And even that village is still contested, according to osint from last week.

I wonder which tank the Ukrainians think is superior: M1A1 vs. Challenger 2? Just out of curiosity
@T_81535Ай бұрын
A Ukrainian tanker on one outlet said that if we're talking tank vs. tank then the Abrams would dominate everything on the battlefield no question about it.
@merlin7766Ай бұрын
Hard choice really, the M1A1 is a really bad ass tank, so is the Challenger 2. I think the M1A1 slightly harder to maintain due to its engine technology versus the CH2. That said both are awesome and I think pretty equal in most areas.

@DWillis7Ай бұрын
M1A1s armour is lacking a lot compared with the Chally 2. It's more mobile though. It's a similar story with Leopards. They lack the armour of the Chally 2, but they're much more mobile and the Leo 2A6s have a better gun. Chally 2 for dug in positions or areas which are expected to face tanks/ATGMs. M1A1s and Leo's for assaults and flanks.
