I was shipped home from Stanley just after the war on the Uganda with pleurisy, I don't remember much as I was delirious but I have definite memories of cool, soothing, gentle hands on my forehead. Thank you ladies for delivering me home to my wife and kids, cured and healthy.

Wow that’s painful, fluid on the lung, I woke up one morning thinking I was dying of a heart attack and it turned out to be that..Glad you made it home 🇬🇧🫶

@@Roscoe.P.Coldchain Oh yes Roscoe, luckily apart from then I've never been really ill but the sound of my breath bubbling and struggling for breath was awful. I don't remember it but a nurse told me they pumped my chest clear for 48 hours, I just remember thinking I was drowning. They wasted no time putting me under and I'm thankful for that. God bless them, I thought my wife was going to be a widow and our kids orphans,

These ladies were real heroines. They treated everyone the same regardless of being British or Argentinian and oversaw the repatriation of their Argentinians to their hospital ships and British casualties back to Montivideo. So very British: "One cannot help but be ... quietly proud" Outstanding.

I couldn`t agree more. The job the Medics did, under the conditions was simply Amazing. I saw the Interview with The Surgeon Commander, They made an impromptu operating Theatre in an old Cow shed on a farm. Everyone who was operated on, Argentinian as well as British, lived to tell the tale. Heroes one and all and this Lady is a typical example.

Nurses and Doctors are so vital when conflicts are fought. I feel they often don't get the credit they deserve (although series like MASH certainly helped) but maybe thats just me.

Why quietly proud? The job the Nurses did , the quiet, skilled , delicate , back breacking, often dirty support work, desrves loud praise.

I’ve read many books on the Falklands conflict and I would be very much interested in reading one about this lovely lady’s experience while on Uganda. She mentioned the Marine bans men acting as assistant medics, I highly recommend a book called the Band that went to War by Brian Short and his experience on the SS Canberra.

The reason why so many died is due to the inexperience of the Navy medical staff. Take a quick look at the Navy dentists and you will see why the Naval medical service is so poorly trained. They are not allowed to do any trauma service in civilian hospitals for a reason. They call the scab lifters for a reason.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 8:58 I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. All who call upon the name of the lord will be saved. Romans 10:13 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8

@@mrbowles8705 Of course they did the writers weren't stupid they knew the perfect way to spread their belief system was to write that and claim God said it. My friend, all religion is man made the gospels were written 70-200 years after the alleged events so not even with in living memory, the god of the OT is a composite mash up of numerous other gods and it isn't even certain that Jesus existed as a person let alone as the son of a god, the evidence for Jesus existence is extremely thin and it has been established that the account by Josephus is actually a forgery. There have been in excess of 12000 gods throughout human history so you have a less than 1 in 12000 chance of being right.
