I respect people like you who take these old garden tractors and restore them. It is better for them to be restored than to have them rot away and go to the scrap yard and be melted down for scrap iron. Sincerely loves to see old tractors restored Robert Gildea Elmira NY

Just picked up a Mini-Mo 112. Made by the same folks that made your Ford 120. Looking forward to watching your rebuild series on this lil tractor.
@loganbedard49056 жыл бұрын
Norm Howes the company who made the Mini-Mo lawn tractors and the ford lawn tractors during this era were Jacobsen. they also made Sears (i think, not 100% on that) but they definitly made ford and mini mo durig this time
@normhowes29756 жыл бұрын
I was told Jacobson made for themselves, Mini-Mo and Ford but I don't remember the 4th myself.

when my grandma passed away she left behind a lot of old stuff, even a nice old car which i forgot what kind it was, sadly we dont have room for the car at my place so we cant restore it :(. the place she had this stuff at is getting sold and we came across a nice ford lawn tractor that wasnt spoken for so i said I'll take it, gonna pick it up and this will be my first project with no mechanical experience other than changing oil, jumping off a few cars, changing tires, and holding the flashlight, hopefully this video has a few tips.

Just loved your work , never had a Ford but we did have an International cub cadet , it had a rear end in it like a truck . My dad was an employee of International and he was given it maybe in 1965 or 66 someone needed it more and stole it from our farm along with a 1959 Volkswagen car and parts for an old scout truck . Nice to see you restoring these rather than off to the scrap yards

Wow! Nice restoration! I have a '72 or '73? Ford LGT165 garden tractor (16 hp. cast iron Kohler and hydrostatic), but mine also has hydraulic lift for the 52" mower deck and the engine is mounted longitudinally. Yours is kind of a rare bird, as I think this was the first year for the hydrostatic transmission, but mounted differently. The only thing I had to do on mine was replace a head gasket and the ignition switch, although I did have some issues with one of the spindle pulleys on the deck, and I'll probably have to modify another pulley of the same size and weld the center in from the old one, since they're almost impossible to find.😉

Thanks. You're probably the first to compliment the music. Music is one of those things, no one ever can agree on. I am in the search for a Cub Lo Boy 154. Our next big project is the Simplicity Powermax which is similar in size to the Lo Boys. Thanks for watching.

I am looking to restore a k301 that went to my cub cadet 129. Do I need any type of special high temp paint or will any regular cub cadet yellow do?
@Isavetractors2 жыл бұрын
For the engine block, a High Temp Paint is preferred. For the rest normal paint will suffice. Typically you paint the block itself with a black high temp paint, then paint all of the sheet metal yellow. Looks great.

I have the identical tractor. Mine is branded as WHITE but it was around the time white bought Minneapolis Moline, so I have all the original owners and repair manuals and everything from Minneapolis Moline for it. I restored mine about twenty years ago but it could use a good going over again. I even got the cigarette lighter working. It also has a large cast aluminum mower deck and a very heavy single stage snow blower. Also mine came with electric clutch on the pto.
