Ford 300 Inline 6 Vacuum Lines

Description of how I ran the vacuum lines when I did the engine swap and after the smog pump delete, this is for f150 years 87 all the way up to 96 with the 4.9 (300 I6)

I just bought me a 1990 F150 XLT Lariat and most of it's vacuum lines are in grate shape. Had to replace the TB gasket in order to get it to idle correctly.

I just eliminated emissions off my 89. The top of the stock air box gives u a easy diagram of the vacuum lines. I notticed my truck smelling like gas fumes until I connected the charcoal box “gas tank vent” to that yellow hose u blocked off. I’m pretty sure your supposed to have the tank vented with vacuum pulling the fumes back into the intake throttle body area. tank vent >coffee can> 2 nipples ontop of throttle body.

The line comming from the tank to that box is still there. Now the line that went from the box to the purge valve is blocked off. Truck never smelled like fumes or ran any different, but that's wierd cause none of the f150s I've owned ever had a diagram

I got a 95 which one of the previous owners had installed the push-button work-around. I eventually narrowed it down to the entire CEL light and socket were missing. Moved the 4x4 socket and light (it's 2wd so not needed) and key-crank started working. (figured it out after moving it and accidentally turning the key the full way, which didn't normally work. Removed socket and verified it didn't crank then put it back and it cranked.) Odd behavior there, but guess it's to protect in case there's a major code? I dunno.

Leave the egr alone. From what I understand it hurts fuel economy to remove it . My 91 4.9 is smog and cat deleted but the egr has always been on but it was froze shut until tonight. I haven’t noticed much power increase. Maybe ill get better gas mileage with a proper functioning egr now but I don’t know yet. I do like the cleaner engine bay with out all the extra junk, also the new y pipe made exhaust work very easy

I got this one from advance auto parts. I think Auto Zone sells them too. They’re right there in the Auto where you can get cold air intake filters and all that other stuff

Engine light was on before the motor swap, it probably threw a code but I unplugged the light a long time ago
