Here is a valued tip for you, What will save you grief in wear on your Alternator is A good strong battery that is less that 8 years of age and all of the grounding points to the frame and engine. I did all of this on my 2008 F250 super duty and had the alternator re- inspection done last year and no wear on the slip rings or the brushes as to when the inspection was also done back in 2021 just after it was purchased in 2020 - So yeah a healthy battery plays a big role here.

Yes I agree I appreciate the feedback, this project was for a future upgrades this is going to replace a 60 amp on a 77 ford truck to allow me to add electric fuel pump and fans thank you for the feedback iv already added a new battery now and thank you for watching I hope you enjoyed!

Yeah I was fortunate that mine was in good shape, I pulled it out of a junk yard and I figured if it was in a junk car it wasn't in there for the altornator so it must be in decent shape

I actually just got everything from Amazon I just looked up a 3g alternator rebuild kit, hope this helps
