Damned glad the Bronco guy had the forethought to put some serious hook up points on his rig unlike some of these amateurs on the trails.

A 4' farm jack works very well. I use two of them and lift the vehicle up out of the holes the wheels are in. Then place material in the holes "under the tires" (wood planks work great but still fill the holes in) and dig the mound of mud out of the way. Do this on all 4 wheels, then lower and drive off without so much drama.

Good job! I used to do that in the Army with tanks and heavy vehicles as a track commander on an M-88A1. Nice work with the block and tackle. Some recoveries take a lot of patients and extra prep-work.

Nice recovery as always - you really have to give that guy some credit for his tow points, those sure are SOLID! Front ends looks like it is 8 lug - but could be a 44 under there sporting bigger outers... Looking forward to the run in two weeks - hopefully I can avoid the hood this time :D

You should've also tied the front winch to a sturdy tree to help hold the front of the wrecker down and in place. If it's possible, you should try installing a set of hydraulic spade type out riggers on the back corners of your wrecker so you can put them down and they'll dig into the ground to help even better anchor your wrecker in place during these really tough pulls.

You guys are the experts but I imagine just a little shovel work really would have sped that up a lot.
@jwwilliams10 жыл бұрын
Well looks like the answer to the question have you ever given up on getting someone unstuck out of the mud is no I'm gathering.. I'm sitting here listening to that tow cable and winch wine wincing wondering if it's going to snap lol. Oh and as some of the other post suggested a shovel would have definitely sped this up, I mean just on that rear drivers side tire would have worked wonders, I'm sure you know this and there wasn't a shovel present to do that in the first place.

Eric why do you always use the clevis hooks when you could just hook the cable to the hook loops that are attached the frame of the Bronco?
@glyn17 жыл бұрын
Always 2 take two chain blocks 750 kg 3 metre reach and a 2000kg with a 3 metre reach and a few wire cables and tow strops chains you can put the chain block up the tree for pull on angles or electric 9000kg double pull may be a little slow but it works

WOuld he take a $ 50.00 Bill if someone offered it to him? He's got a lot of time and money in that old beater. He's a good rigger when it comes to safety. I don't like the non protected rear window in the wrecker. I've seen block and tackle come flying through the windows, many times injuring occupants. I love these videos.....myself and my LW use to 4 wheel in Central Kentucky 4 days a month for 5 years. Seen it all.

@Hogasofa11 жыл бұрын
Why don't you help dig him out with some shovels first instead? I mean it is a little harder probably but you don't run the risk of breaking things when you do that if you would of dug him out with shovels first it would of been a ton easier to get him out...
