Heartbreaking that this happened to Ford and Holden as well. I just upgrade from a 2000 AU2 Falcon Ute to a 2015 FG-X Falcon Ute. I can't bring myself to sell the AU. Hold onto your Falcons and Commodores for dear life, they are a peice of Australian motoring history regardless of how you feel about either.

I’m an American and I’m a dear Australian buff and I love the country and their culture and way of life and I will love to import my own Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon to the American soil and drive them in the summer months and keep them garaged in the winter to keep from getting rust so they can stay pristine condition for generations to come! Even if Holden or Ford Australia does comes back because GM announced that Pontiac is coming back!

Nice tribute for a great Australian Icon. I grew up in the seventies and remember all the Falcons my dad had as company cars form the XC wagon, XD wagon, XE wagon and finally the EA wagon in 1988 when my dad retired. They were the most comfortable and spacious cars available on the market for decades.My first car was a 1986 ZL Fairlane with big comfy seats and a dazzling electronic instrument panel from an aircraft. I sold that a got a AU2 sedan then a BF wagon and now I own a BF3 wagon, I briefly owned a FG2 XR6 which was a beautiful car but I found the build quality not as good as the BF3 so I sold my 2013 XR6 and went back to a BF3 wagon 2010. I found the dashboard layout of the BF series the best ever on an Australian car.What a sad , sad day for Australia and for me...I hope my wagon lasts forever:)

A girl who i went to school with her parents had an te cortina and an xc fairmont gxl.this is a sad day.by the time i learned driving every ford was a full import except for the falcon.i came so close to getting my old man in late 96 into an EL XR6 just before I got my learners permit to drive in early 97.he bought a 200sx instead.I wish I had a subscription to motor in those days to show him the comparo test between that and the holden series 2 vs commodore s.

What we need to do is start a new political party in Australia that is dedicated to reindustrialization of Australia and what that government could do is buy the falcon name off ford and start making cars again and raise tariffs on imports. I offten dream about restarting production at Broadmeadows it is possible people need to start to care about what is important and our country’s identity

Ford owns the factory, the technology, the marque, and the models. They do not want competition. And tariffs on imports? So you want the rest of us to pay more for the cars WE want to buy to subsidise the cars YOU want to buy... It's not going to happen

truly sad.I remember riding in a few falcon taxis in my time and once coming home from the airport from my first holidays on my own got a fairlane/ltd limo(not sure which one)NA series 88 or 89 model year so many memories.It saddens me with the switch to imports unless you want a mustang V8 if you need a passenger car you buy a mondeo now or WORSE thanks to the fuel crisis of the seventies going into the eighties you would have been forced into a capricorn which was essentially a stretched variant of the upcoming telstar of the day.

Falcon should have been the car to replace Taurus here in America, for the Taurus sucked. Large sedans are NOT supposed to be front wheel drive! Had Falcon come to America, there would be one in our driveway...

They didn't lose their jobs due to imports. Union greed, poor product (didn't spend a cent on engineering after Ford went to the wall in 2009 and the Territory needed a zimmer frame), and a blackmailing parent killed them here.

I Love my FG Falcon but seriously I've owned some big buckets of shit The EA EB serious and The killer the AU which stopped me buying a Falcon up to the FG of which I owned a Toyota Aurion to that point .Ford is responsible for the death of it's Oz Operation, You build shit for years and families cannot afford the multiple repairs and poor dealer service kills sales. I've personally advised my local dealer if you fuck me I'll tarnish your image for years t come. My next car will be a mustang after the hype Prices drop

sandy guy the au is a perfectly good car infact i recently purchased a property and there was a au there i found paperwork form 2011. it was sitting there for years. all i did was battery and a radiator cap and it works fine it would have passed rego if we didn't bush bash it.

The XD was a game changer , then when the EA in 1989 come it was a lemon and the nail was placed in there coffin. People simply were tied of the same shape by 2014. They fell behind . So yes sad to say good bye , but not surprised

Alberto Francesca the ea was the best we had one so bulletproof by the way ea was 88 not 89 Series 2 with the 4 speed auto was 89 and followed by the 30th anniversary series 2 0f 1990 that’s when all the bugs were ironed out. It just depends on how you look after your car mate.

Jeffo, the Crown Victoria was larger than the Falcon. Falcon was Taurus’s size, but rear wheel drive. If Ford had any education and common sense, they would have dumped Taurus for Falcon, for Falcon was a better car.

I cry everytime I watch this and I’m not even Australian! I love the Falcon even though we never gotten the Australian Falcon. Our American Ford Falcon ended production in the 1960’s but continued on in Australia. If I have the money, I will import a newer Australian Ford Falcon to the United States and may drive it to the Ford Motor Company HQ and show them the car and hopefully they’ll make them for American roads here

you know there were great and not so great model falcons and the same with holdens too, l have had many of both over the last near 50 years because l am not a brand snob, l know a good car when l have one, but what pisses me off is that ford gets the falcon to be spot on especially with the fg and that bloody grouse engine then they pull the pin, well l intend to keep my fg xr6 as long as l can because it is to coin an old falcon ad, a great australian road car, so it will be interesting to see what sort of imported 2nd rate vehicles ford are going to try to sell to us in the coming years, as l for one refuse to downsize into some front wheel drive left over they will try to palm off onto us aussies that they cant move overseas.

Owned a 383ci XD ex NSW Highway Patrol sedan, then a Qld Police BA XT, brought a brand new BF MK2 XR8 manual in '07 (owned FPV No 20 F6 Tornado ute at the same time as the XR8), and now have a 2014 MK2 FG XR6 manual. Sad it had to go this way- but at least Ford went out in style with the FG-X performance cars

Ive owned 2 XF falcon SPaks, 3 AU Falcon XR6's, 1 AU XR8 SIII 220, 1 SR BA, 1AU v8 Utility Marlin, 1 BF XLS ute and my forever XH longreach outback. These cars were part of my life. they delivered my babies home from the hospital, some got me speeding fines getting to the hospital. We never questioned their safety, as they were australian. They then went to first dance contests, we shined them up for formals, and now, its all gone to waste. We are no longer proud of our cars, as they dont feel like part of the family. Falcon was always part of the family. Great video, I miss my Falcon

The worst thing Ford Australia could have done was scrap the wagon for the Territory. Such a versatile car. My first car I drove was an XF wagon, lowered with 12 slotters. It was also red/ burgandy. A real head turner. Like the car from the movie "Running on Empty" although the movie car was the XY GTHO.

I don't think I'm a full American, cuz I absolutely love the Falcons and the Falcon Utes! Though I just hope the Aussie Government would let me prove how Aussie I can be by attending Australian events like Australia Day, etc. to freely become a citizen. But I know that'll never happen. I'll have to do a ton of paperwork in order to be citizen. Even if I'm not a high skilled worker.
